“Thank you trip advisor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013 via mobile

What a brilliant place. I booked by fax from the uk and they called me back within 20 mins to confirm the table. What service. The food is very substantial. The potato soup was great and the meatballs were the size of tennis balls, I couldn't eat 3! We were made very welcome and really enjoyed our evening. It was very busy and many people were turned away as there were no tables. We will very definitely be going back

“Home cooking at its finest!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013 via mobile

This was a recommendation from our hotel and couldn't have been better. Real home cooking and genuine service. The owners couldn't have been more hospitable. So friendly and caring with excellent English. The food was fantastic especially the beetroot soup and pork knuckles!

“Small traditional German restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

I discovered this restaurant on line before I arrived in Berlin and decided to visit it on my first night. I enjoyed a potato soup to start followed by meatballs and potatoes and a beer to wash it down. Bill came to less than €20.00 which was a pleasant surprise.

If you are in Berlin and happen to seek out this restaurant you will not be disappointed

“Warm welcome and fantastic food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013 via mobile

We got the last table available, given with enthusiasm rather than any snootiness we should have booked. They were so friendly (especially given our lamentable German) and so helpful. The food was amazing too. Rich and full of flavour and seemingly heavy, it was a lot lighter than it seemed. A smoked fish with creamed apple and onion was just delicious and surprisingly fresh tasting. A Masurian jugged game dish was rich, dense, sticky and went well with a potato dumpling and some pickled white cabbage. The wine was light and fresh and reasonably priced and we even ventured into the dessert menu. A shared apple dumpling was, again, lighter than we expected - and delicious. Great value, we left full but not bloated. The service was lovely and the room welcoming and comfortable. Go!
