Description: In September 2014 Restaurant Maharadscha has completed 30 years. We want to say a large thank you to all our guests for their faith in us. Restaurant Maharadscha is twice in Berlin. If you want to experience authentic Indian food you are here at the right address. We serve chicken, lamb, duck, fish and other seafood dishes but we do have a variety for our vegetarian and vegan guests as well. Here you can forget your prejudices against Indian food since you decide whether you want your dish mild, good-seasoned, spicy or very spicy. One of the owners is always at your side to make your visit memorable. Even though we have a large number of dishes, every meal is been prepared freshly after your order is placed. Both restaurants are located very central. You can get to Maharadscha in Schoneberg easily in 5-10 minutes from the underground station Wittenbergplatz (Kudamm with KaDeWe). Maharadscha 2 is only 3 stations away from Alexanderplatz (central sightseeing place with TV tower). So tourists can easily travel to both restaurants. Please notice: We don't accept credit cards. Only German EC card or cash.

“Great taste of India in Berlin”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

I very much enjoyed this restaurant. It has an authentic feel and taste. We ordered tandoori chicken and chicken madras. Both had good spice (we ordered less than the most spicy) and portions were about right. The service was friendly and prompt. I would definitely return.

“Good curry”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Hunted for this place from the Pulman hotel :-). It is set in quite a nice area I thought, there are a number of restaurants along this tree lined road. Welcome was nice and friendly. The decor of the restaurant felt like it was from the late 90's and felt good :-) very good service and chat from the owner and good food. If you like it very spicy you need to say as they do cater for the German pallet. All if not most dishes come with rice. Overall the food was to a good standard with nothing really out standing...not to say it was not satisfying just not outstanding. Still a good meal :-)
Please note that this is a cash only restaurant.

“Poor service, below average food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

The onion bajis were very doughy, quite pale and bland. The flavours in our mains were very one-dimensional. Saag was just spinach and cardamon - no other detectable flavours. The lamb curry was in a tasteless tomato sauce with carrots and peas. Our peshwari naans were very flat and quite crisp with a cheese topping (!?). I was wondering if they got them from the pizzeria next door...
When we asked to have naans rather than rice we were told this wasn't possible. Even when we said we didn't want the rice it still arrived and the 'side order' naans arrived several minutes after the main dishes.
We definitely expected a lot better after the positive rating on here. Overall, we left very disappointed.

“Imagine you cant get in few minutes be in India!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Extreme hungry after all day long of sightseeing -brother, sister & boyfriend- were looking for some healthy but warm fulfilling place for a nice dinner in Berlin. We found this place through tripadvisor and that was best choice we could made! The food was as we imagine you cant get just in India! It was like eating at Indian home, delicious! We absolutely loved this restaurant's food and ambiance. Theirs Ganga Plate with Palak Panir, veggies, rice, salad and few dips was one of the best we have tasted in a while. Their rice was cooked to perfection. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great Indian beer and..best Bhathura & Chapatti bread we ever ate! Will go back again definitely! Even just to dip tongue in perfect mango lassi!
