“Above average”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012

Looks trendy, good-looking people, beautiful receptionists, very eclectic customers, but the food is very basic Germanic. That is not bad at all, actually it was perfect but the ambience may drive your thoughts to something more refined. Go basic and it is worth going. I’d return.

“Decent food, nice atmosphere, service a bit slow. Average, not exceptional”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2010

We had dinner there with a small group in a very hot evening, sitting outside in the pleasant little court. The food was fine, but not memorable, and the service a bit slow. All in all a safe bet, but not an exceptional place. As other reviewers wrote, is funny to see the owner coming to welcome you in a very formal way!

“Creative fare in plush surroundings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2009

The place is a bit funny because they take themselves way too seriously, as it were at least a two-star Michelin restaurant: visitors are all dressed up as if they were on a very special occasion (think jewelry on ladies and black tie on men), it is quite formal in terms of service and presentation, the owner Mr Guy comes out to greet each table in person, and the décor is all plush and red.

We had the so-called Jubilee Menu (it was their 10-year anniversary) for the entire table. It is a five-course menu with matching wines (one glass per course) at 59.50 euros. The food was good, even very good, creative, light and full-flavoured (except for the prawn tartar). The match with the wine was, however, somewhat unconventional (for example, a Gewurztraminer was served with roasted pork belly). The dessert was quite standard (coconut ice cream and chocolate parfait).

On the balance, the prices appear justified, save for bottled water. 7,50 euros for a half-litre bottre of plain water is simply beyond reason (the water supplier also provided water glasses, which may probably explain inflated water prices).

Note that reservations are essential on a Friday or Saturday night.

“Place worth visiting, service and food superb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2009

Excellent place, seems like it is all about people and well balanced (texture and taste) meals. Exacly what you would expect from a restaurant in Europe. I have arranged to "pop the question" there-- called few weeks in advance to book, asked if it would be possible to arrange flowers on a quiet table. When we arrived we were greeted by a glass of champagne, bouqet of beatifull red roses with addition of lillies... smiling waiters awaiting our requests... food-- divine. little tartares with funtastic sauces, excellent selection of wine, main looking like a piece of art, and the taste...
Could not hve chosen better for the special occasion!!!
Thank you all for an unforgettable evening!!!
