Just came back from a long week end in Berlin. I choose Hotel de Rome as i wanted a mix of contemporain and historical Berlin. Perfect , this is the place! Hotel de Rome gets really a trendy chic place. Select a junior suite 230 if you want absolute quiet, space in room, lots of light and feel like in a room of one of Cesar's palaces. Room service excellent on ponctuality, good food small quantities. Housekeeping excellent on request. Small pool but agreable. Excellent massage specialist, ask for the tunisian masseur ( sorry i don't remember his name ). Concierge very helpful. i wasn't in the restaurant but ordered very good plates from it.
One negative thing, i asked prior arrival for a DVD player in my room: no one told me about it or about the impossibility to get it! I would have expect a answer to my request.
All over, one of the top 3 worldwide hotels of my private list.

Hotel the Rome opened recently and I had a great experience.
The staff was all so friendly and eficient.
The rooms are great and the bathroom floor heated which I loved.
I will defenetly return!

Just returned from a 5 day New Year's trip to Berlin and stayed at the brand new Hotel de Rome. Having just opened one month ago, the hotel is still working out the "newness" of its staff.

Location is superb- right on the Bebelplatz- just steps from the Opera and all the major historic museums. Just around corner from the Regent and the close to the main shopping areas. Great dining nearby at Lutter & Wegner, Boca di Bacco and drinks at Newton bar. Our conceirge staff was excellent- made all our bookings and confirmed all on line.

Rooms were spotless, immaculate (new), we had a deluxe room - spacious, modern- great bathroom with all the amenities. Flat screen plasma TV's- limited English speaking stations (CNN, MSNBC, BBCnews), unfortunately no CD player although the TV has an available music playlist (too bad you can't dim/ turn off the monitor). Request room on floor 1 and 2 beautiful high ceilings.

Pool, sauna, spa- Ok if fee is included in your rate--small pool, good workout equipment. Difficult top boook treatments due to limited staff---

Restaurant staff was excellent, outgoing- menus are limited. Lunch in restautant is Italian and limited to a more formal experience. Dining with children can be difficult here as the options are limited. Room service menu however was wonderful and service EXCELLENT. I usually avoid room service except at breakfast but did eat in on arrival night due to luggage not arriving. Hopefully they will expand their menu options.in the restaurant.

In contrast to other RF hotels I've visited , the staff at the de Rome was a bit more formal--perhaps they are being cautious in their initial days. I am sure as their confidence grows their service will become more natural. What's needed to make it truly exceptional is the human touch.

we loved this hotel and thought it was perfect. it is in a great location in the old east berlin amongst some of the most beautiful buildings and it is easy to get elsewhere.

the hotel is luxurious without being pretentious and the service is second to none. each and every one of the staff went out of their way to help us and welcome us

we had a room on the second floor and it was fabulous. it was a standard room but immacualte. the bed was comfy and the bathroom gorgeous plus a huge walk in wardrobe

the spa was a bonus and very quiet in the evening

the food in the restaurant was stunning. my only gripe would be that the resturant doesn;t have much atmosphere and the lighting is dreadful

overall - wonderful
