Generally I loved this hotel. Very good location, beautiful interiors, great rooms with huge beds and nice bathroom all as you would expect from the Forte brand. The basement pool and spa is also very good.
The only negative experience was the efficiency of certain operations within the hotel. On arrival we were told our room wasn't quite ready despite us arriving well after check in time but would be available in 'five minutes'. We were invited to take a seat in the lobby and wait. 'Five minutes' past and then some, begging us to ask the question, 'have they forgotten about us?'. After asking if the room was ready again and being told another 'five minutes' we were finally shown to our room and our 25 minute wait for our room was forgotten and would have remained so until a couple of days later when we experienced a much longer delay getting our room serviced. Housekeeping arrived just as we were going out and I suggested their returning in 'five minutes'. On returning later in the afternoon, we were surprised to find the room had not been made up, called down to reception and were told 'five minutes'. After returning to the room an hour later, still no service and another call prompted the same response of 'five minutes'. Half an hour later the room was serviced and all was fine. I headed down to the pool for a swim. After, I went to help myself to a complimentary tea but the hot water was empty. The helpful attendant immediately came over and told me 'five minutes'. I smiled politely but decided I would pass.......
The restaurant staff at breakfast were very good, as was the excellent concierge. Whilst there Is some room for improvement in certain aspects of the service, the standard of accommodation is extremely high.
