A fantastic hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms luxerious and spacious. The room service was well priced and arrived quickly. A great location, just meters from a train station and surrounded by a great choice of places to eat, from quick and nasty at the train station, to silver service riverside eateries. Possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Despite being located on a major street, the rooms are quiet and I never heard any traffic noise in my room.

It is a nice hotel, quiet, clean and comfortable. Great location, as you can walk to the major Berlin attractions (Check Point Charlie, Brandenburg Tor, Museums). It's also close to transports. Very nice staff. Breakfast was fine but a bit expensive (no worries there, there are lots of small restaurants nearby, where you can have a nice breakfast for much less). Bath towels should be bigger.

Located right in the middle of action, right next to river Spree. Easy to commute everywhere in Berlin area: S and U stations are 100m from the hotel door. 20 min walk to Checkpoint Charlie, 10 min to Unter den Linden. Nice places for breakfast right on the opposite side of the river if you don't want to pay the 20 EUR for hotel breakfast. Stayed on basic room, 2nd floor. Soudproofing was great: couldn't hear a thing from the busy street next to the hotel. Used the garage during the 2 night stay. Elevator goes right next to your car from the floor you are staying. Clean rooms and public areas. Nice staff as well. I just can't find any negative sides! Highly recommended!

As a big chain hotel this was well run, with friendly and helpful staff, good sized rooms and was well equipped. The breakfast was OK, but quite expensive - get cheaper in nearby cafes. The location is excellent - 10 mins from all main attractions and right beside the station for longer trips. For a central big hotel, this was one of the quietest I have stayed in, which was great for a good night's sleep!

We stayed in Berlin for 4 nights and were thoroughly impressed with the service at this hotel. We do not speak German but the staff in fluent in English and Spanish as well as German, so that made our experience that much more pleasurable. Everyone, from the bell boy to the concierge to the front desk staff was wonderful and the rooms were clean, pleasant and roomy. Its proximity to the Spree, Museum Island, Unter den Linden, the S-Bahn and great shopping and dining make it ideal for visitors to the city. Our package included the buffet breakfast, which was expansive, to say the least. We would definitely stay here again!

I booked this hotel after seeing the reviews on here and also managed to get a great rate. The hotel is superb and in a prime position for both the train station and sightseeing. Our room on the 4th floor had a lovely view of the Spree. It was refeshing to find a room where there was both air-con and also the ability to open the window. Although Friedrichstraße is below the good sound insulation kept the noise out. The breakfast has to be one of the best ever ones I have ever had in a hotelwith every type of breakfast catered for, including champagne. A short walk from the hotel is some very good restaurants with many over looking the Spree.

the only gripes (and these are really minor ) is that the rooms don't have a tea & coffee tray, there isn't an iron/ironing boards (though one can be borrowed from the hotel) and, WiFi costs 17 euros a day

When I return to Berlin I will certainly stay at the

Just got back from an amazing time in Berlin! Melia Hotel, it has to be said, was fab and located in a perfect spot along the river Spree (transport a stone's throw away). The hotel was clean, rooms are spacious and staff were really friendly. Be sure to check out the nightlife down by the river - some nice restaurants and bars to chill after a fun day exploring the cultural delights this city has to offer. I would stay at this hotel and hope to visit Berlin again one day!
