“very nice location, clean, tidy, would return !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

Situated close to the center, yet in a quiet neighborhood. very clean, rooms, bathrooms, kitchen. Very nice garden (though it was covered in snow while I was there), Wi-Fi working fine in rooms as well. Very safe, close to super market, underground and bars if someone is interested.
Overall I enjoyed my stay there, I would appreciate friendlier staff, but overall, it was great. I would return.

This was the perfect place to stay if traveling alone! It has a great atmosphere, it is quiet enough to sleep easily, but also easy to find people to go out partying if that is what you'd rather do! I found the kitchen and common space to be a great, stress free place to meet people. Also, it is so clean, you could eat from the floors. I would recommend this place to anyone!! (Plus the coffee is great!)

Room Tip: The 8 person dorms are great!

Really a great hostel, very modern and clean with friendly and helpful staff. Dorms have plenty of space with fairly comfy beds, lockers and absolutely immaculate bathrooms. Free wifi throughout is a big plus, and the kitchen is the best equipped of any hostel I've seen. There's a lounge as well to hang out, and a 2euro basic breakfast is good value. The atmosphere is good, more intimate than some of the other giant hostels in Berlin, with the general age creeping more towards 28-35 than 18-22. Good location too, close to the centre but far enough away to not be in the thick of it all. Plenty of shops, restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood.

They organise walking tours, baggage storage and good city maps, so everything you might want as a travellers is here, really there's very little negative to say. Only very minor things is street noise and sometime the corridors, reception and common areas feel a little small and crowded. But all in all, a fantastic choice for your stay in Berlin.

Room Tip: Away from the street is a little quieter.

This hostel was definitely a nice place to stay. The breakfast is cheap and the little backyard must be delightful in warm times (I was there in October). I can't rate it as Oustanding because of a mix-up of beds, resulting in finding someone in my bed and the dorm full when I came back one night. But the staff was really helpful and efficient, and fixed things up quite quickly.
The hostel is within walking distance to a street packed of restaurant and the Sunday flea market.

The staff at this hostel are very friendly and helpful. They have no problem helping you to find things to do and see and will go that little bit further by providing you with cheap beer and printing!
The rooms and bathrooms are extremely clean which made the stay that much more comfortable. My only critique is that I didn't find it to be a very social hostel.

Stayed here for three nights in a twin room, found staff extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless and the kitchen and lounge facilities were also kept clean.

On top of all the usual hostel offerings, eastseven also has a cheap washing service (5 euro, and all the work is done for you!), cheap breakfast (2 euro buffet), cheap coffee (1 euro for a better than average cup, free if you like the Facebook page). As well as a range of beers etc.

Good, safe location close to a U-bahn station. It's also easy to walk places if you enjoy seeing the city as we did.

All in all a fantastic hostel that always surprises you with little things that make life easier (12pm check out? Yes please). Highly reccomended.

tl;dr
its relatively quiet, good-located an cosy. Good choice for small groups or single-travelers.

I am working in berlin and staying at eastseven while looking for an apartment. At the beginning I wasn't sure if a hostel was the best choice but the time at EastSeven convinced me that was the best alternative.

Good Location:
You can easily walk to Alexanderplatz and will probably reach most of the "must dos" in the center via walking or taking the metro. There is a convenience store (REWE ~400m) that is open until 11pm and there are lots of cafes, bars and small restaurants.

Great staff:
They received mailings for me and helped out where they could. Awesome service!

Clean and cosy rooms:
The dorm rooms and bathrooms are clean and perfectly good.. They also encourage you to issue any inconvenience but I never noticed any problems at all and I stayed here for 3 weeks now.

Well equipped clean kitchen:
They offer the tools and the space to easily cook for a 'big' group of people. Also the fridge was always clean and they have a dish washer so you dont even have to do your dishes as long as you keep the machine clean and empty the machine afterwards.

Room Tip: You should go here in the summer.. they have a really nice garden with a bbq/benches/table soccer..
