We chose Cafe Einstein near the Nollendorfplatz as a cheaper alternative to our hotel's 19 euro breakfast. For a couple days running, we walked 1 1/2 blocks to Cafe Einstein where we had the double decker breakfast for two for 25 euros. This place is a breakfast-lover's paradise. The hubby had sticker shock from the 4.5 euro kaennchen of strong, foamy (and delicious) coffee. The bread choices were divine - it came with a couple each of kaiser, croissant , wheat and multigrain rolls. And I ate them all with gusto. I love German breads, and these were some of the best. The toppings were excellent as well (butter, jam, cheese, horseradish). The shiny smooth lox accompanying the cheeses was tender and fresh - not salty or oily. The best lox we've ever eaten. Tasty curried chicken, meats and yogurt to round out. Aboslutely yummy!
