When I stopped at the "Kalter Krieg" on a cloudy saturday morning I never thought I would find such warmth.
Despite the name, the place is warm and homely, and you can see all the machines used to make ice cream and waffles. I chose a Spanish waffle, with peaches and chocolate - funny choice, since Marta, who made me a great waffle, is Spanish herself, and as sweet as my breakfast.
The Kalter Krieg is two steps away from the Checkpoint Charlie, so if you are around visiting such sad places, you should definitely stop for a waffle or a coffee to warm yourself again.
