An excellent place for breakfast or lunch on the corner of Winterfeldplatz with plenty of outdoor seating if the weather allows.
Just a few minutes walk from Nollendorfplatz U-Bahn and Christopher Isherwood's apartment at
Nollendorfstraße 17 is round the corner, while David Bowie's flat on Hauptstraße is 10 minutes walk away. (Not much to see at either location and the city is quite different of course - but it's nice to get a sense of the space.)
While smart and relatively new, the leather seating and dark wood interiors give it a traditional feel.
They offer an excellent choice of cooked breakfasts, and a good choice of - as far as I could tell - traditional German dishes for lunch or dinner. I had a simple steak lunch here which was tasty and well presented, followed by decent camomile tea - the real thing not made with a tea bag.
The service was fast, attentive and accompanied by a smile.
