“Off the main Street - worth seeking out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

We found this excellent ristorante - pizzeria quite by chance whilst visiting the Christmas Markets during the second week of December, nothing overly special looking from the outside, and not the latest decoration inside. However very clean and tidy, and an excellent range in the menu. What I will say about this little hideaway is that the staff were friendly, efficient polite and smiling.
The food, we classed as excellent too, we did visit twice during the week, a pizza and mixed salad the first night and later in the week carbonaras plus sides. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and was hot and fresh with plenty of flavour, far from some of the blazay meals we have had in some Italian restaurants before.
The price was very good at around 26eur for the two of us with wine.
It will be one that we will go back to when next in Berlin.

“If you're hungry and want a quite cheap meal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

Loggia was right opposite the apartment we stayed in, and therefor we ate there three times during our stay. Maybe the sausages at the Christmas markets attracted the hungry ones, or maybe we are late diners, but we were almost the only ones dining there after 8 pm.
We had pastas, pizza, salad and meat - all well prepared and good, but nothing special. Service was polite, kind and quick since there was so few customers.
The menu is huge for such a small place, so everyone will probably find something to eat. The prices are very reasonable taking into account the closeness to Wittenbergplatz and the shopping street. The atmosphere is "typical Italian restaurant". But do not expect to be served in Italian - probably the only one familiar with this language is the cook.
Do visit Loggia if you only want something to eat and good value for money. But if you want a dining experience, romance or some fancy courses, then I recommend you choose some other restaurant.

“OK for a bite to eat”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

We ate at the Loggia when visiting Berlin in October. The food was OK and the staff friendly but nothing overly special.

My daughter had a King Prawn pizza which she was very pleased with although my prawn cocktail left a lot to be desired. Our main courses were acceptable but again nothing special.

If you're looking for somewhere quick to eat then this is the place, if you want something a bit more special then look elsewhere.

“The worst service in Berlin”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

We went and snagged the last table available, so we were looking forward to the food since it was packed (usually a good sign in a restaurant). It took the waiter 15 mins. to take our drink order. By this time, the other tables had started to leave, so it was about 50% filled. The waiter came to take our orders about 30 mins in. Our drinks (after we asked for them) were brought 40 mins. in. Our soups came and we didn't have any spoons, we asked for them and after 5 mins we had to get up from the table and get them ourselves. Our main courses finally arrived (more than an hour after we got there), but they were just blah. My gorgonzola tortelloni had no gorgonzola cheese, it was just a plain cream sauce, I asked the waiter if it had gorgonzola and he said yes, but I never tasted it (and it usually tastes strongly). We asked for a side of marinara for the fried calamari (which was rubbery and had more dough than calamari) and were charged 4 euros for it (microwaved and small portion). Overall, horrible, horrible service, (other tables that came after us got served first, no bread was brought to our table, while it was brought to some others) and the food was NOT worth the wait. Save your money and go somewhere else.

“Watch out for scam, he scammed me.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

When six friends of mine and I, arrived we asked if he took Visa Electron, he said yes and we got a table. The service was nice and we ordered without any problems. The atmosphere was nice and so were the service until we had to pay. The first friend of mine tried to pay with his Visa Intro card (better than Electron, but worse than original). The one who we payed too, looked like the owner, controlled the card machine. When my friend paid the machine didn't write any recipt, I'm not sure if the owner may did something with the machine, but my friend tried twice without getting any recipt. Then the owner said it was broken. Yes, the machine we asked if worked 30 minutes ago suddenly didn't work, or that was at least what the owner said. Then we all had to empty our pockets to pay the bill.
Later when my friend checked his bank account it it stood he had paid twice. Damn scammer!!!
