A new hotel which is part of a building also incorporating a Holiday Inn, however both hotels have their own entrance and a very different interior design. An internal and pleasant courtyard area is common to both hotels.
As with Indigo hotels; design is well....er designer, individual and I suppose targeted at the boutique hotel market. Check in was friendly (as was all the indigo team) and quick, room 'quirky', spacious and comfortable.
Bar and restaurant had ambience and efficient staff. Dinner was ok and restaurant a good option for breakfast with an excellent omelette cooked to order.
I had a corner room with a view onto a busy street, which meant that although the windows are double glazed their is some inevitable street noise from and the frequent passing of trams. If this would bother you, I would suggest a courtyard view room.
My only very minor gripe, was that the elevators could not cope with the amount of guests, so it always seemed a long wait after pushing the call button. I guess a problem of building design, nothing that the hotel can change.
Location is a 5 minute easy walk to Alexanderplatz, so public transport is close to hand and you will have no problem getting a tram, S or U bahn to most places in Berlin.
I would be happy to return, although I guess the reasonable room rate will only climb as the hotel gains popularity.
Facing the courtyard if street noise bothers you.
