“Buzzing and lively hostel with great access to all Berlin has to offer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

This hostel is lively and buzzing probably due to it's size - it's huge! But that meant it had many great facilities.
It's located right next to an s-bahn station and to a tram stop which meant it was always easy to get to the centre of Berlin (15-20mins).
There is a great bar located within the hostel which had a great atmosphere and drink prices are cheap and that's outside of happy hour!

The rooms were incredibly clean and tidy, albeit on the small side. We had a twin room with ensuite. There didn't appear to be an option for a double bed - couples take note! we improvised by pushing the beds together. And i'm also informed the boys bathrooms were clean.

Staff were friendly and helpful. There were places to store luggage and restaurant options right outside.

Minor cons:
Thin doors and buzzing atmosphere meant that you could hear people quite clearly walking or stumbling back to their rooms in the evening.
No double beds.
Whilst there was wifi, email was blocked.

I would stay here again and would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Berlin.

Room was clean, bed fairly comfy and facilities are ok. Nothing special about this hostel but it is close to the train station which is a big positive. Wifi didn't work in the rooms and showers weren't great but did the job for our stay in Berlin.

Hostel was really good, modern and well mantained. This is one of these places which looks like on the photos ;) Tasty and huge breakfast, comfortable room with private bathroom. Bar downstairs also has got good potential...Hovewer this place is hard to call hostel, this is more like a budget hostel, that's good from one side, but not for travelers who are looking for something more than bed and breakfast. Reception is always bussy, I can't blame them in such a huge hostel, but you don't have a chance to talk with locals and ask for intersting spots in Berlin. Plus many children around, so that's also make specific atmosphere of this place. Still recomended, location is good- next to trams, buses and and S-bahn. On the reception free maps and info about free walking tours available. Nice place in total :)

Room Tip: wifi only in common area

The biggest hostel I have ever stayed !!! Great location, close to the subway. The reception staff is very helpful.
Unfortunately, due to size, wi fi doen’t work in the bedrooms, there is no kitchen and the luggage deposit is paid.

It was hectic with all the school groups and huge groups of tourists coming in and out. The staff look like they don't like working there. I dont blame them. Even the most simple things cost extra. The wifi was very limited. I wouldn't stay here again.

Compared to the boring Hamburg Generator Hostel this place is kicking. Mainly lots of teenage kids but they are on tour and have to be in bed while were out in Berlin. Wow what a place Berlin is and we only saw a fraction of it. Different ages stay here, i saw a couple in there late 60's come into the bar and all are welcome. The bar gets packed and all the staff are second to none. Told us anything we need, how to get here there and everywhere. It's pricer than Boring Hamburg but it's in east Berlin and it's still cheaper in East Berlin than West. There's a kebab house around the corner that serves huge kebab and chips for 2.50 euros and a nice place to relax and have a beer staff are nice and friendly. We were in a 4 bed dorm for 5 nights and only a few people came and went all friendly. I'm definitely staying here again if i return to Berlin. there's another Generator in the Centre called Mitte but like somebody has said before there's a subway and tram on your doorstep and if you can get in the famous Berghain club which is near this hostel you'll be lucky. my friend and i went to Tresor and it was awesome well worth the hype came out at 8am sweating, brilliant. Saw the sights had a great time. Love Berlin and the hostel.

Room Tip: Just stay there the bathrooms are huge too and there's never anyone in them.

Not a great hostel. Enough if you want to sleep, that's it. Room had a weird smell, there were pizza boxes from previous resident below my bed, and the other residents were weird and diverse. Reception was bustling with people since you get wifi only at the reception. Overall, okay to sleep in for a cheap rate. Not a family hostel whatsoever.
