“My new favourite art gallery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

We heard about this place on the tour of the Bundestag. Hadn't been aware of the place before. Incredible art collection and the place is huge. I have never seen people queuing out of the door of an art gallery before. The building is an amazing space for Modern Art and even the bookshop is fabulous.

Loved it.

“sehr gut - very good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

Wonderful building, good art well presented.

This is a huge place (you have no idea from the outside): we were in for about five hours - probably too much for one visit.

The Martin Kippenberger exhibition was vast and exhausting and would be best dealt with as a single visit. Martin Honert's work was unexpectedly poignant, funny and creepy, sometimes all at once.

Much of the rest was highly enjoyable: Warhol, Twombly, Rauschenberg. Rolf Julius, Nina Canell: thought provoking hiss and rumble. Joseph Beuys: Joseph Beuys!

Great bookshop too.

“Art on track”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

This converted railway station has a great central space for exhibits . Like all such galleries it will depend on what is on at the time that you visit- contemporary art can be wow or ugh?!!

Fantastic modern pieces in a beautiful and innovative setting. Afterwards, get a beer in the museum's cafe!
