It is always a great experience to walk the streets of a city with a local. It's not always possible, but in Berlin you can. Berlin Locals Tours are for people who want to see the sights and sounds of a great city with the experts, the people that live there and away from the crowds and cattle-herding tour buses. You can ask questions and see the things that interest you.
But Berlin Locals is even better for those who have been before, seen the sights but want something more, to find the less visited and the more intriguing places in Berlin and see it through locals eyes. You can learn more about this fascinating city, beyond the ever-present WW2 and Cold War history to its equally interesting Prussian past and the history of the city itself and its art and theatre world. And of course, discover the alternative, modern city it is now. Away from the tourist spots and museums you can find the real Berlin. The art scene is amazing, especially the street art and the different neighbourhoods each have their own distinct, creative and independent vibe. See what makes the city unique and modern, the converted warehouses, the artist squats and riverside beaches. You can see something different, like the train station tour, a unique and quirky idea but it ties in with the cities history and gives an insight in to how the city has operated over time. These places have played roles in the great events of the past from forming East and West side barriers to their roles in the Holocaust. An interesting and often over-looked part of Berlin.
If you like private tours and want to an expert, local guide then this is ideal. If finding the interesting and over-looked or the odd and quirky in a city then you will love these tours as well.
The best part is, you have a local with you, you get the stories and information and your questions answers PLUS a cool new German friend for the day.
Berlin is one of my favourite cities because there is something new to find every time. I already have my eye on the twenties tour next time I am in town.
