pristine, impeccable quality, friendly staff, but very small gym, some staff does not speak very good english, ok breakfast. Great location! Although it probably fits the criteria for a five-star, but in essence - it's 4+

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights as we got a good deal through one of the online travel companies.

Agree the breakfasts, staff and quality of rooms were excellent and the housekeeping standards are very high & their staff should be congratulated.

Our only disappointment was that the concierge was not up to date with information and provided us with inaccurate answers to 2 queries. The most surprising thing he appeared to be unaware of was that the Berlin Welcome Card covered travel by the regional railway to Schonefeld Airport and insisted the card could only be used on U & S Bahn & buses and trams.

I am pleased to say we found the correct answer on the TA Berlin Forum! Thank you.

I stayed at the Swissotel for 5 nights for business. Service was excellent - very friendly staff, always smiling. They didn't look like models though (ref a previous reviewer)! Would have given it 5 stars, but food didn't quite warrant that. Food was nice, but not "excellent".

Comfortable room, bath and shower, plenty of space. Windows that open, which is a rare treat. I love having a coffee machine in the room....

KuDamm isnt my favourite part of town, but it's great to be so close to the Tiergarten and transport in Berlin is fantastic.

I paid £600 for 5 nights (without breakfast), which i think is excellent for a city centre hotel.

This is a good 5* hotel, but it has a few things that can be improved.

Firstly, internet (wifi) charges are quite high and you would nowadays expect free wifi throughout the hotel, including rooms. Installation of wifi may be a once-off high cost, but for a hotel with such a high through-put that should not result in such high charges (more than 10 Euro per day).

Secondly, even though it is a very good luxury hotel with good service and quality, it is just missing some charm. It is a typical business hotel and feels like that. Also the room decorations could do with some more charm. Especially having a room with view on the inner courtyard doesn't really help. Finally, the breakfast could be a bit more bit varied as it seems to offer the same selection every day (the breakfast itself is very good though and has a good selection).

Some plus points: easy to reach (5 minutes walk from Zoologischer Garten station, which can be reached directly from Tegel airport with express bus X9); good value for money; good and clean gym; good breakfast; very comfortable, quiet, rooms.

Overall, we could consider staying here again though, especially if we can get a room for a very good rate again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor with an outside view (not on inner courtyard).

To be totally honest there is nothing we could even vaguely find fault with at this hotel. The rooms were great, with both bath & shower cubicle, posh inroom coffee, comfy bed & pillows & much more. The staff were friendly and helpful & even gave us a mini tour when we checked in. The breakfasts in the morning were great and had a great choice. I'd definately recommend staying at Swissotel in Berlin its a winner!

Spent several nights in this hotel which is centrally located. It's about four floors up from street level which kept the noise down. It has a 1970s - 1980s feel to it, and the bar area is a bit soulless, so if you are looking for something funky and modern it will not be for you. But it is clean, the rooms a good size, breakfast was excellent, and the quality of the staff really made our stay. Fluent English, friendly, very helpful at all times. would stay there again in a heartbeat.

I stayed at this hotel with my best friend for 3 nights and we had a wonderful time. When we arrived our room wasn't ready but the receptionist (who spoke fantastic English) offered to store our luggage, gave us a map of Berlin and pointed out various popular attractions. She also offered to ring us when the room was ready. Indeed our experiences with the reception staff were very positive throughout our stay - there were two further occasions aside from checking in and out that we needed assistance and they were always willing and ready to assist.

The room was clean, well appointed and comfortable - the Nespresso machine was a lovely touch - and the pillow menu made us smile. We had requested a twin room and were given what was essentially a double but although the bed was on one base there were however two single mattresses and two duvets so we were able to sleep with one each which made it a bit more like a twin. It's a good job we are good friends though!

I was a fan of the location of this hotel. It was just off the Kurfurstendam which is the main shopping street in the West of the city. It is ideally situated for public transport and the first stop for the bus tour of Berlin that we chose was just round the corner. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance and there is a taxi rank right outside the hotel.

We had breakfast included in our package and it was delicious. We were seated quickly and there was plenty of choice of both hot and cold food. Indeed we were so satisfied that we did not eat until the evening. We also ate in the restaurant once on our last night and the meal, although expensive as you would expect in a hotel of this type, was amazing and the service impeccable. The experience was one I will remember for a long time.

Both the cocktail bar and the lobby bar were well stocked and fairly reasonably priced for a hotel in this price bracket and, as with the rest of the hotel, the staff were friendly and obliging. I had one of the best Mojitos I have ever had on our last night in the cocktail bar.

As stated in previous reviews, there is a small issue with internet access which may be more of a big deal for business users of the hotel than it was for us. We got 30 minutes free whilst we were in the lobby area but then had to pay for anything after that. I did not use the internet at all but my friend needed to check some work emails etc. There is however a small office area with computers with free internet access if this is required.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others travelling to Berlin and would use it myself should I visit again (which I hope to as the city was fantastic and I feel I have lots more to explore). It would also encourage me to try other Swissotel properties around the world. Overall a wonderful stay in a vibrant and interesting city.
