“Fantastic stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

We stayed at this hotel in March 2013 withfriends for our annual city break. The staff were excellent and very pleasant, room was good size though our double bed was 2 singles pushed together which is usually fine but on casters! Excellent location with loats of bars and restaurants which were fantastic within few minutes walk. All sights were within walking distance of between 10-25mins. Can't rate this hotel highly enough and will definetly stay here next time I visit Berlin.

PROS:
Central 'Mitte' location, lots of bars and restaurants around. Close to public transport (tram, tube).

CONS:
Lack of the WIFI Internet in the rooms, only LAN available.

When I was booking a room through the BOOKING.COM website, there was information that "WiFi is available in all areas and is free of charge". Very untrue!!! When I was trying to get a price reduction I was offered 2 bottle of waters from the hotel minibar!!!???

WIFI available only in the reception area, the connection very slow, with 1 password to use per device.

TV not working properly. Very old small 'mobile' type tv.

A no-frills and centrally located hotel in Berlin. Rooms are plain and a bit outdated, not every corner might be as clean but the hotel has all the basic amenities you usually wish for. Breakfast is basic and OK. Reception staff has no-nonsense attitude. The restaurant attached to the hotel is best ignored - there are plenty of alternatives on nearby Oranienburgerstrasse (or beyond).
Do consider the price you want to pay for this: for 94 euros per night for bed and breakfast, you may want to check comparable (and much cheaper!) offers at one of the brand new four star properties all over central Berlin.

This is a good clean and comfortable hotel with good size rooms. Breakfast is satisfactory in the usual continental style though service can sometimes be a bit disorganised if busy. The hotel is in a lovely part of the town, quite trendy with lots of cafes and bars and shops with smart goods. It's right near S and U Bahn stations, only one stop from Friederichstrasse which is the transport hub of the city. All the major attractions are within walking distance if you are quite active.
I would certainly stay here again. One evening attraction nearby is the Gypsy Restaurant which has dancing every evening, mostly free.

Room Tip: Courtyard facing rooms are quiet though a bit dark in the daylight. Street facing rooms are lighter...

Great location and walking distance to Central Station. We arrived very early and were met with a friendly receptionist who allowed us to check in. Massive room with a large bathroom and free internet. The U-bahn and S-bahn lines are just around the corner and is easy to use. Hotel is also close to restaurants. I would recommend this hotel.

The only one great thing about this hotel is its location; it's a minute walk to the U-bahn. However, it needs serious updating: the tv is still a small tube and with very few channels (hardly any international). There was no internet in the room, and the wifi in the lobby was extremely slow and unreliable.

The hotel had a great location to do sightseeing in Berlin. It is within walking distance to a great deal of Berlin sights such as museum island and the TV Tower but also close to hop on hop off bus location and the S-bahn station. The hotel room itself was nice, simple and clean. We were pleasantly surprised with little Easter marzipan bunnies because we stayed around Easter time. Would definitely stay again!

The internet took a bit to figure out but I believe it was http://hotspot.lan to help you connect to the wifi.
