Stayed three nights at this hotel just before St. Patrick's weekend. Booked a twin room direct with the hotel with breakfast included E333 [2 of us in room].
Hotel is so convenient to connect to the airport. Get the train at the airport and thirty minutes later it drops you at Friedrichstrasse stop which is right outside the hotel. E2.80 fare one way.
Hotel is really central. Five minutes walk or so to Brandenberg Gate, maybe a little more in the opposite direction to Alexanderplatz, State Opera House, etc.
Hotel is spotless. True to the pictures on the website. The staff are very pleasant.
Breakfast was amazing. At weekends it even included champagne & strawberries. Even the most fussy eater [and I travelled with a gluten free meat free refined sugar and flour free phobe] would have plenty of choice at this breakfast. Fussy eater so impressed with breakfast she got up at six a.m. on the day we left so she could have breakfast!
Didn't eat any other meals at the hotel but had drinks. They are a little pricey but no more than Dublin and the prices are clearly set out on the menu.
Would go back to this hotel in a minute. Am going to Barcelona in August and will book another NH hotel as was so impressed with this one.
Went to two operas in Berlin. One in the Komische and one in the State. State Opera opera was fab. Decor inside not as glam as thought it would be. Opera in the Komische was a bit weird. I think they are a bit out there with their productions. Two Germans sitting beside us said they thought it was a rubbish opera anyway [Pique Dame]. Costumes and set amazing. Odd in that it had what looked like Playboy Bunnies in one scene and other strange bits and bobs. Interior of the Komische fabulous. Go to a State Opera. Tickets I got were not good seats but only E20 or so each. Really good experience.

I like this Hotel. I stayed here alomst once a month for the last year and I was never disappointed. Nice, friendly staff; spacious, clean rooms and a great breakfast. The location is great with plenty of good restaurants and shops in walking distance - you just have to walk out of the door.

We've had an excellent stay at the NH-HOTEL FRIEDRICHSTRASSE in Berlin, for 10 days during Christmas 08! Actually, we've just returned today! The personnel was very polite and helpful, the room very clean and taken care of everyday by the staff (fresh towels and bed linen, fresh coffee cups, etc). It had a convenient size, medium to large (for the european standards) with a small built-in kitchen that made things very easy for having a coffee whenever you wanted to. Usually in the morning before leaving our room, as we did not wanted to pay for breakfast or in the evening when returning to the hotel very tired. Very well decorated room with a nice aura. The building is new, with huge glass windows. Very modern. The location is GORGEOUS, next to everything! The best place to stay in eastern Berlin. We couldn't have done a better choice in that. Located literally one step away from the "Friedrichstrasse" S-Bahn train station. Our room was on the 6th floor, facing Friedrichstrasse, so we had no noise at all. Many times we were leaving the window open as we had a smoking room, but still nothing annoyed us terribly, neither the noise from the trains nor the street noises. Do choose it for many reasons. I would have written a huge list here with the advantages if I could! I will definitely book there again in my next visit to Berlin. I would like to thank the personnel for their excellent assistance! Wish we could return quickly! We had a great Christmas time in gorgeously "different" Berlin! Have a great new year!
