“One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012

After an initial issue with the reservation (as we had booked through a third party site), the staff at the Mandala Hotel did everything they could to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
A very quiet and peaceful hotel, with very friendly and professional staff.
My husband and I both loved it.
Although not cheap, it was worth every penny.

Service was not the greatest but you can;t beat the position of this hotel.

The proximity to the shuttle bus and its snazzy design made up for that for me. I loved the details and the clean lines.

A bit expensive for what it is but you just don;t get position like this for less

Room Tip: higher floors are quieter although rooms are well glazed

Stayed here for business twice during November and experienced differing service levels each time, the latter being borderline rude upon checkout. That aside, it cannot be denied the hotel is well located for restaurants and entertainment within Potsdamer Platz (Sony Centre) and shopping, by way of the Arcade shopping mall, all just a few metres' walk away. As for the accommodation, both stays saw me in a comfortable but cold standard room overlooking the 5th floor restaurant which was ok but noisy at night, when I guess the kitchens were being cleaned/re-stocked. Room was spacious, clean and had safe, ample storage, desk with stationery, power points and a large bathroom but no matter how many times I requested it, never managed to get more than one hand towel in there. Duvet for the bed was a single sized one even though the bed was larger. Strange. Would I recommend this hotel? Based on my last stay no, I, nor any members of our Company will be staying here again. Many colleagues experienced issues with serivce whilst others, like myself, had to query their bills at check out which for me has seen my personal credit card debited since with almost a full nights' stay as a separate charge to my actual stay, with no notice or contact from the hotel that they would do this after my departure. As a consequence, this and similar issues experienced by colleagues means that in the short term at least, in house travel Co will no longer book staff into this hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid ones overlooking the restaurant/"garden", very noisy during the night.

Finally back in Berlin after long years away we were unsure where to book. By chance we came upon this hotel and did not regret it. Very well located in the heart of Berlin the Mandala exceeded our expectations by far. The rooms were huge and the bathrooms even more so! Comfortably furnished, good mattresses and with a TV that you can watch from bed as well as turn around and watch from the sofa. Lots of great details, very good amenities in the bath. What totally convinced us was the wonderful breakfast buffet in the morning. Although quite crowded at the weekend (we had to wait two out of three days) the buffet was constantly replenished and looked amazing throughout. Even though I normally do not eat fresh fruit in the morning, at the Mandala it looked so great that I had to try it. I was not disappointed.

We were quite surprised how well we slept considering that there is a lot of traffic in front of the hotel. Unfortunately, we did not have time to visit the spa, but we had a quick look around and it looked very stylish. The same is to be said for the bar, which we frequented quite regularly, as the weather was not so great during our stay. We will definitely come back to the Mandala.

We enjoyed fantastic service during our two night stay. Spotlessly clean, large suite (I felt the decor to be a bit corporate, but my spouse really liked the lightness of it). Nice vegan toiletries. The towels had the most lovely, subtle perfume! Breakfast was served in the main dining room which was a fantastic atmosphere, and we enjoyed the breadth of the buffet and the excellent eggs and waffles. Our waiter was adorable and friendly. Room service coffee was excellent and came with something sweet, which was a nice touch.

If we were to have changed anything? Room service was quick, but perhaps the food itself could be improved - our son's burger was burned and the chicken and veggies in our club sandwich way too cold. The beds were a bit too firm for our taste; we found out too late that we could have asked for softer mattress cover - perhaps they could add a note on the bedside table? TV offered a very limited choice of English channels, which was fine for us, but if we'd had younger children or if we'd been staying longer we might have wished for more (there was a dvd player and I assume they have dvds to borrow).

Room Tip: Room 825 is a corner suite with large living room. Room 807 is a smaller suite, but the tv spins ro...

my husband and I stayed at The Mandala for five nights in October...we couldn't fault the amenities ,the amazing breakfast and the staff who were so helpful. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel . The location was perfect for shopping and visits to the many places of interest. Value for money was excellent and we hope to return.

The Mandala is very well situated just in front of Sony Center on Potsdammer Platz. The rooms are functional and well designed, internet is free and the connection is quite fast. The hotel staff is very cordial and nice, though the service leaves much to be desired. My sojourn was for 3 nights - after the first night, the bed was done up indifferently and the bathroom floor had not been properly dried. On the second day I came back and found that the bed was not made and the room had not been cleaned at all. When I mentioned this at check-out the response was that I should have informed somebody, as if I wanted somebody to come and clean and do up the room at 11.30pm at night! A hipster heaven, but not recommended if you expect great service levels.
