“A wonderful hotel, great friendly service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Mandala Hotel for our recent trip to Berlin. We are food lovers and stay in hotels for the odd night of luxury fairly regularly. Its right in the centre of Berlin, in the modern part of town, and we we able to walk from the hotel during the day and just jump in a cheap cab or train in the evening.
We arrived at about 10pm and went for a drink in the bar. The cocktails were fantastic, and the bar tender helped us out with some recommendations about where to visit for nightlife. He had listened carefully to our taste because all the recommendations worked out brilliantly throughout the whole weekend.
Breakfast was superb, it's available until midday on the weekend, which was highly civilised! The quality and choice of food was really good, and the service was friendly, understated and efficient - by the 3rd breakfast, the waitress knew our order!
Our room was large and modern, and exceptionally clean. There is a sound system in the room and as a nice touch they provide some CDs for you to listen to. Also each room has a small kitchen area, which is a nice bonus whe it comes to making tea, or pouring a glass of wine.
All the staff we met were very friendly, bi lingual, and happy to serve.
A truly enjoyable stay.

Wow. Here's a place that is in a killer location AND still feels the need to pay attention to details.

We chose the Mandala because we tried to combine two conflicting ideas of "the perfect weekend vacation". My partner wanted to spend a leisurely wellness weekend while I preferred big city amenities. The Mandala offers both. From its lobby at Potsdamer Platz it's only a hop to musical theaters, restaurants and cinemas. At the same time there is the luxurious ONO Spa on the 11th floor with sweeping vistas of the city (there's even a foot reflexology path around the terrace to enjoy them) and a peaceful, serene and soothing setting (awesome rainforest showers in black tiles).

We did not check breakfast. The price (approx. 28 Euros) is forbidding, especially since there are several amazing breakfast places in Berlin that cost only a fraction.

The room we had was facing the Sony Center and it's noisy street, but windows are absolutely sound-proof. The only drawback because of this is that the air-con constantly filters and regulates airflow. That means air quality is - what do you expect in the middle of Berlin? - not pristine and can be stuffy. Windows can be tilted, though, to improve it (at the cost of increased noise from Potsdamer Platz).

The suite itself was spacious and well kept. Beds are good quality. High speed WLAN internet is free of charge. We had a walk-in wardrobe. Use of bathrobes for the sauna is included.

Don't miss sunset or at least the night lights from the ONO lounge on the 11th floor (bring a bottle of wine and don't tell anyone ;-).

We purchased a package which included Mercedes S Class pickup/return to the airport, management suite, breakfast and a hotel credit. Best vacation purchase ever!
Boutique upscale hotel with a very professional staff. Warm greeting, spacious room with balcony, perfect location (easy walk to most major attractions and there is a shopping center behind the hotel where you can purchase snacks, drinks etc). Breakfast is amazing. You can also order waffles and cook to order eggs. Had a couple of great meals at the Qiu lounge (warning... food takes a while so enjoy the view with a glass of wine). Big bonus for me was free use of their laundry rooms (think they are located on the 6th, 8th and 9th floors).
Very comfortable beds. Highly recommended. Try to keep me away if we return to Berlin.

Room Tip: Don't take one near the laundry rooms.

We loved staying at the Mandala. It's location, across the street from the Sony Cener, is very convenient to the Ubahn, shopping, restaurants, museums, and concerts. Robert gave us a complimentary upgrade when we requesed a stall shower, and the room was spacious, bright, clean, and tastefully decorated. Internet is free, our included breakfast buffet in a lovely dining room was excellent, and the service superb. Although not spoiling our five-star rating, the TV needed updating(though worked well), and a magazine rack that had seen better days.

Mandala is an on going surprise starting from the warm welcome from the reception staff with so nice hot towel ending up to the superior spa services.
I spent only a weekend there which was so amazing I wished I could have stayed longer.
Breakfast is served in a cozy room with so relaxing sound of running water. Quality and service is just fantastic. The restaurant is also really good offering a great array of canapé which are not always easy to find with great price per value. My room was a city studio on the 6th floor: big, comfortable. Spa is located on top floor with stunning view of Berlin. It has a couple of saunas, outside special feet path, rooms for treatments, solarium. Warmly recommend a new relaxation therapy: it lasts 25 minutes and it's held in a special little room completely blu. The target is switching off the brain by special sounds set on Alfa waves which facilitate full relax.
I also found delicious the green tea and ginger tea with some little snakes such as coconut cubes, dry apricots, nuts, ginger. There is a spa lounge and a silence area where you can taste water with lemon, with mint, with ginger.
Overall fantastic experience with great value for money.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Mandala Hotel next to the Postdamer Platz. We enjoyed a suite that was quiet, overlooking the back street and the restaurant veranda. 2 bathrooms in the suite: perfect! Breakfast was really great, with renewed food in a buffet style, but nothing that looks overwhelming as the ususal buffets. Service and attention to customers by hotel staff was outstanding. We strongly recommend this place! Would definitely be back there if prices allow.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking backyard = quietness!

Right in the busy and modern center of the city, very-well connected, this hotel is totally unexpected. Very elegant, tiny with spacious room, young but professional staff at the reception, the spa and the restaurant. We had 3 great nights with our 2 teenagers there.
I never waited so little for my cup of tea, which i appreciated very much!

Room Tip: The rooms on the garden are very nice with large balconies and windows.
