“clean, comfortable and convenient with friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2011

the apartment we had was comfortable and clean with the added bonus of a small kitchen so we could make ourselves cups of tea and coffee and more if we so desired and we could keep our beers and wine cold in the fridge. It was reasonable well situated in a good area with plenty of places to eat and drink inthe vicinity. The superb transport system meant it was very easy to get around and the u-bahn was about 5 minutes away. The hotel was very near the expensive shops which were nice to look at even if we didn't but anything.

The people at the front desk, espacially Mark and Jessica were exceptional.
First, the room was clean and tidy, equipped with a microwave, dishwasher, fridge, TV, radio, CD player etc. In addition, there was a supermarket across the street, so preparing meals was extremely convenient. They built with us plans for the day in Berlin and explained exactly, when, how and ways to get to each location.
. There is a supermarket over the street. You can also buy breakfast at the hotel. The hotel somewhat away from some main tourist sites. But take the bus 109 from the Olivaer Platz stop a few minutes away on Kurfurstendam to Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten. From there there is easy transport to all the main areas of Berlin. Public Transport is efficient and cheap.
The fact that the hotel was located about 400m from a U-Bahn station which doesn't lead to the main stations in town. So we had to take the bus instead, and then switch to the U-Bahn. In addition, the shower isn't completely sealed, meaning that water might spill out if you are not paying attention. Other than that - perfect
The hotel claimed they are not responsible for people who smoke in no smoking rooms so I guess we are.

This aparthotel is a great place, if, like me, you just need a place to "rest your bones" and like a little freedom by having a place you can cook your own breakfast and staff don't come around every day.

Shared a one-bedroom studio with a friend and apart from the mattress being harder than I'm used to, I have no complaints. The area is quiet, the U-Bahn is just around the corner, and if you like to walk a bit, you can reach the citycenter around KaDeWe in appx. 45 min. by foot. I'd definitely go back there some other time.

I'd read that cleaning is extra, but that's only if you want more than the once-a-week service, which I find totally unnecessary for short breaks like my 4-day trip. I can do with just the included end-cleaning, especially as they have a nice towel-drying rack!

I would also like to point out that for once you can actually trust the official pictures found on the web by the hotel :-)

Managed to get this serviced apartment hotel for less than £100.00 for a 3 night midweek stay and for the price paid, I have to say was quite impressed and would seriously consider again if a similar offer came up.
Location, well depends on where you need to be in the city really. From Schoenefeld Airport, it takes ages to get to (nearest S-Bahn Station would be Savignyplatz) Nearest U-Bahn Stations are a 10 min walk away (Adenauerplatz U7 or Uhlandstrasse U1) and hotel is off the Kurfurstendamn.
For those coming from Tegel Airport, Bus 109 stops nearby. Handy for the Western half of the city, Zoologischer Garten, Kadewe, Kurfurstendamn, Nollendorf Platz, but a trek for anything else east of this.
Citadines itself is a hybrid of hotel and serviced apartment. Was allocated a room on the 7th floor which was of a reasonable size at least 30 square metres with a seperate kitchen area. Everything is provided in the kitchen, even down to the number of bin liners, so stock up the fridge and away you go.
Bathroom is only equiped with shower gel and soap for the 1st night, as you will need to buy these and towels are only changed once a week if staying that length of time as the whole apartment is cleaned once a week.
The room had a sofa bed which according to the other reviews on here created no end of issues. Personally speaking, I found it comfortable to sleep on and had no problem what so ever, the mattress was firm and so were the pillows.
Room has free internet access but alas no free wi-fi which is only available in the lobby area from a free 24 hour ticket. One suggestion would be to extend this very valuable facility to the whole of the building.
You also need to empty your own rubbish (unless it is a cleaning day) and the rubbish chute is located in the basement along with the parking lot and the laundrette.
Staff are friendly and in all was quite happy to stay here and would return, especially If I managed to obtain the same fantastic rate.
Perfect for the independent traveller
Tip: Avoid Kaisers across the road as it tends to be on the pricer end of German Supermarkets, There is a Lidl and a Netto located about 5 mins walk away in the vicinity of the hotel as you turn left out of the hotel.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Was very clean and well equipped. Room was fantastic with everthing you need for a self catering stay with supermarkets right over the road with everything you need for reasonable price. Can't wait for next year to come back and stay for longer period through Christmas.

My friend and I stayed in this hotel for two nights for visiting Christmas Markets and doing some sightseeing. Had read reviews on Trip Advisor and this sounded a good place for us. We asked for a twin room with proper beds and we got a lovely, clean room that served our every need. The little kitchen was an excellent idea - all hotel rooms should have one! Took advice from previous visitors and got the 109 bus from the airport, which stopped at Olivier Platz, right by Hotel. Got a 3 day travel pass and used the buses all weekend - excellent service. Hotel is out of centre but is quiet and in a nice area just off 'posh' shopping street (Designer stores). Transport is so good you are soon able to get to everywhere you want to go. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for a stay in Berlin.
