“Best hostel in Europe. Period.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013 via mobile

I've stayed in hostels in most major cities in Europe, most of them top rated.
But this one is the best of the bunch, it ticks all boxes.
Clean, quiet; dirt cheap, great straff, fantastic location.
I've stayed in Circus 4 times so far and I'll be back again.

Tip about Berlin; do a lot of research before you go. There's soo much that you can't miss, so coming unprepared and you might miss out on a lot of fantastic experiences.
If you think that the location is too far from Kufurstendam you're in the wrong city. Go to London instead (or Tokyo if u can afford it).
Berlin is alternative and the eastern part is where you want to be.

I thought staying in a hostel was beneath me. I need hotels--give me comfort, people to bring me whatever I want...awful American! So when I was switched from the Circus Hotel to their Hostel I was more than apprehensive, I was out for blood. Sadly, none found.
The Circus Hostel is terrific. I found I was not too jaded, too expectant, or too much a jerk to not really love this place. I had a room with a fabulous view, everything I needed, friendly guests, and a staff that is truly beyond compare.
My only complaint: every staff member speaks perfect English so I couldn't use my German...or you couldn't stand my trying? Circus Hostel: simply wonderful.
And a fews meals in the Circus Hotel across the street, perfect too.

Room Tip: No TV or AC, but it doesn't matter. Great WiFi.

Stayed in the two bedroom apartment in December when the weather was cold and snowy.
The apartment was a reasonable cost, spacious, clean, comfortable and most important, warm. Can't complain about a thing - the lift worked, the place was quiet and the reception staff most helpful. The location was super for exploring Berlin with trams and metro on the door step, allowing for ease of access to all over the city - the hostel offered for a cheaper cost an all transport ticket for a period of time, a most innovative thing. There was a variety of eateries nearby and within a ten minute walk, a supermarket for supplies. Don't go past it for accommodation in Berlin.

Room Tip: Top Floor is quiet.

This is the first time we have stayed in an hostel so we were a little unsure what to expect. We stayed in 1 of the apartments so maybe not a true hostel experience. The apartment was great, very roomy with a nice balcony, living area with a bed kitchen and bathroom. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and quiet, even with all the fireworks going off for NYE. You can also get breakfast for only 5 Euro in the cafe, which was great value.

A great central location takes you immediately into the heart of Berlin. I stayed in a single room what was suprisingly large with incredibly high celings that don,t make you feel like you´re in a box as some single rooms do. Although it can get a little noisy at night, that is not the fault of the hostel but of the loud party revellers arriving from the clubs at 4am. The staff at the Circus were incredibly helpful and answered all questions with professionalism and ease they also contribute to the funky and youthful vibe of the place. This is a great place to stay in Berlin for first timers and and eperianced travellers alike.

The hostel is in a perfect location: 20 meters from the underground that takes you to the city center in 5 minutes.
The room, showers and toilettes were very clean. The all-you-can-eat breakfast gives you enough energy for the day :-)

Best hostel I've stayed at. I stayed here in December 2012 and I have to say it was the best hostel I've stayed at. It has an Amazing vibe about it. Very modern. There is a funky bar downstairs where they have activities on a nightly basis. The hostel also offers activities such as walking tours ( which I highly recommend). There is a cafe at the hostel as well where they serve a European buffet breakfast.( at an extra cost but lasts until 1pm) The beds were comfy and the shared bathrooms as toilets were clean. I'd definately recommend to stay here!
