NH Alexanderplatz is a good quality hotel. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are very friendly and willing to help. It is located right next to a nice park and is on the tram lines. It is not in the centre of town (Mitte) but this is reached by an easy metro ride. The hotel has bikes to hire, which I would recommend doing. When we visited the gym and restaurant were undergoing renovation, but this was not noisy at all and would not have know if it wasnt for the signs informing us. We got a deal on last minute and it was extremely reasonable. The rooms can get a little noisy in the morning with the people getting up and about walking the corridors, but this isnt really the hotels fault, more the other guests. I would recommend staying here, especially if you dont mind being a little out of the centre.

Room Tip: All rooms are the same I think, but definitely ask for non smoking if you dont want to be in a smoki...

We stayed two nights and were delighted as the staff were friendly, the location was good for public transit and the breakfast was outstanding. We ate one night in the hotel restaurant and one night at the Chinese restaurant just down the street. There is also a grocery store just around the corner.

We stayed at Hotel Alexanderplatz in Berlin 17-19 May 2013.
The hotel is situated near by Hackescher Markt.
The view out from my window was a beautiful “Lindenbaum”. Underlining that Berlin is a green city.
The staff were very friendly and of great assistance. We did not try the hotel breakfast, due to a tempting bakery shop close by the hotel, which served a big scale of bakery goods, as well as nice coffee and tasty hot chocolate.
You may buy day-tickets at the hotel for public communication.
A visit to Ka-De-We is a must, if you enjoy shopping. If you do not want to buy, there is such an amount of beautiful and interesting objects to look at. High prices, high quality.
We went by autobus, crossing the city and had many of the great and famous buildings at eyesight. Berlin has many good museums, as well as interesting art galleries, you just have to make your pick. A restaurant that can be recommended is “Café Einstein” in Kurfurstenstrasse. The ambiance is stylish, reflecting the 1920ies art deco, in addition warm and friendly.
In May it is asparagus season, and Café Einstein served their white asparagus perfectly tender with hollandaise sauce and a cool Riesling. You really do not want very much more from a light May meal.
Last but not least, the background of the hotel is a history taken well care of, in the lobby there are posters explaining the origin of the street and the house where the hotel is situated.
Close by the hotel there is a quiet little memorial place, a small park with strong and powerful
Statues by the German artist Ingeborg Hunzinger , in memoriam of the German women (and also some men) that in 1943 protested against their spouses and children being brought to extension camps, due to their jewish origin. The protest succeeded against all odds, and spouses, children and some other people in addition were saved from the camps, the “Rosenstrasse-Protest” saved several thousand Berlin jews.

The hotel is a 3 star establishment, perfectly adequate for short stays but lacking a couple of important features. The rooms are clean and spacious but have no tea or coffee making facilities. The staff speak good English and are very helpful but the TV in the room only has a couple of English language (news) channels. The Internet is obtained by way of a code which inconveniently changes daily and the signal is so weak that the service is effectively limited to viewing emails.

The hotel should not call itself Alexanderplatz - the famous square in central Berlin is a 15 minute walk away, although admittedly there is a direct tram line.

Great hotel in Berlin but requires you to walk or ride anywhere that you want to see in Berlin. The hotel is very nice and has a restaurant. The wireless Internet is not very good at all. Restaurant is okay. Hotel is very close to the train station and it is in a safe location
