A must see and do whilst in Berlin to truly appreciate everything youve ever read, seen or heard about these vile concentration camps.
This memorial is extremely and more importantly tastefully done, they do not try to profiteer from what has happened just to educate in the hope it never happens again. I personally found the experience extremely informative, emotional and humbling.
This is easy enough to get to just catch the Sbahn to it, the train is direct and the journey takes about 50 minutes with a short 10 minute walk to get to the camp through town. It would take a whole day to fully take everything in, but even if you only have a few hours to spare please go.
I personally think that everyone should be made to visit a camp to fully grasp and appreciate what happened as it gives you a greater understanding and appreciation of what must have happened to the poor souls interred here.
