I stayed here for six nights in a Business Class room (which cost around A$20 a night more than a Standard room). The room was very comfortable with a nice bath (although those sharing might find the open bathroom somewhat unusual!). For a single person it was spacious enough. The hotel is massive with over a 1,000 rooms, but it has a massive breakfast room so there was never a problem getting a table. The breakfasts were good. I had dinner in the Zille-Stube, one of 3 restaurants in the hotel and it was ok, but not great.

The hotel is located in an excellent position, near Museum Island and about a 20 minute walk to the Brandenburg Gates. It has a S-Bahn station very nearby. Also nearby is a bus stop from which one can get the bus to the airport which cost around €2.10.

Overall I found the hotel excellent, comfortable, with good service and offered good value for money. I would certainly stay there again if/when I return to Berlin.

Tip: look out for the store called "Schkecker" (nearby the hotel and in other locations in Berlin and other cities) which seems to be a chain selling cosmetics and the like, but also has soft drinks at generally reasonably prices (eg cold Coke €0.79 and water was €0.59, plus bottle deposit)

Alright, bad news first: if you have some need for privacy, this is not the hotel you wanna stay: there is no walls separating the room from the bath; there is just a "glasswall" between them. Further more, the hotel is tremendously big, you just can't believe it. There is 42 floors, with a non sense number of rooms in which one of them. That aside, the hotel is great. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is very good, the room was nice and clean.
If you stay there, you gotta go to a small restaurant in the neighbourhood called Pizzeria Romantica. Ask for a waiter called TTony and you'll get a great food, with an unmatchabled wait service for an absolutely ridiculous price.

Park Inn Berlin Alexanderplatz is a wonderful hotel. It's a real treat. The location is absolutely PERFECT-easy to get to, day or night. As central as you can get! The hotel room was a bit small, but had excellent views over Alexanderplatz and the TV tower. The breakfast was incredible-best choice of food I've ever seen in a hotel. Coming from Ireland, the height of the hotel was really exciting. Would really reccommend this hotel!

We stayed at this hotel 3 nights in january. It was superb. We ordered the hotel through hotelsclick.com and payed 500 euro for two doubleroom friday-monday included breakfast.. I upgraded the room directly by caliing the hotel for 20 euro pr night. The room was upgradet to panorama wiew witch meens that you have a panorama room with two windows on a corner. This room is bigger than the other ones and also includes a bath tub. I askes for a coffee and teamaker and that was brought up to the room. Everything was perfect. The location is superb.
Breakfast was the best i have even seen. The best variety of breakfast i have ever seen at a hotel ever. The cleaning of the room was great. The roomservice from the restaurant was extremely good. We ordered clubsandwich, pizza, french fries and two coke for the price of 40 euro. Enough for 3-4 people:)

I would recommend this hotel for everyone

But keep out of the restaurant beside burger king at first floor. We were all sick after have dining there.Worst food ever..

I can't think of 1 negative...
This is what I liked: the room was not large but well laid out and beautifully (although not necessarily expensively furnished); the bed was extremely comfortable and I loved the comforters (we each had our own which was wonderful); the hotel was incredibly quiet, even over New Years when it appeared they were full to the max; the buffet breakfast was exceptional; the location was great, with the U-bahn, S-bahn and buses all right at Alexanderplatz; the climate control in the room was perfect, even though we were on the 32nd floor it never was too hot or too cold (we had our own thermostat but that doesn't always guarantee a comfortable room); in addition to the good public transportation options right there many of the major tourist attractions in the city were in walking distance (I like to walk so other's might not agree).

We were here a full week and there was nothing about the place that I can fault. And just as an fyi, it is a soviet era building that was remodeled a couple years after the wall went down, and they did a fabulous job on it. I have stayed in other properties in former soviet bloc countries which retained the sterile/ugly quality so recognizable in those buildings.
