It has been 3 years we are checking on the progress of the reconstruction of the Berliner Schloss!
We have been participating, buying a stone here, a lion's head there, it is for us, French living in Germany our participation to a gigantic project we believe in.
So every time we go to Berlin, we try to get a glimpse of the future.
The Humboldt box is built right "on the project" you climb to the first floor and find the book store, the map of the project, the small scale "3 D maquette" The donation box is also there, very practical if you have your credit card on hand.
you can talk to people about the reconstruction, you can seemini movies of the past or the future, and it is very interesting.
Another story higher and there is an exhibition, I guess they change it occasionnaly, it has nothing to do with the castle, but is interesting to children and adults alike.
Another story, and you reach the top of the box with a double exposition, one side to the Dom and the street perspective towards Est Berlin and West Berlin.
On the other side, a view of where the castle will be.
Between the two points of view, a little restaurant, in and outdoors, comfortable, with an interesting card, drinks and wine.
It is not "fancy" but original, and it is nice to grab a bite there!
We are planning on going back, if you don't eat, the view by itself is worth it!!
