Owner description: FREE BERLIN TOURS - Guided bike tours for groups ____________________________________________________________________ There is no better way to explore a city than by bike and Free Berlin Tours is definitely the right choice for you. In the fresh air we guide you from sight to sight and explain to you Berlin's history and mystery. At each place of interest a stop will be made and because all our guides are so well trained, we have the flexibility to make spontaneous changes throughout the tour to suit your individual needs. Berlin is a really bike friendly city with lots of cycle paths and we have perfected our routes now over many years to great success. Your safety is always our first priority therefore we've selected side streets rather than busy main roads without compromising the experience. Even older and inexperienced cyclists can participate without any problems. The following tours are on offer: 1. "Poor but sexy" - Berlin's wild side 2. Berlin's Best - The perfect mix 3. Berlin Wall/Third Reich - History up close 4. Top Secret - Hidden places

“Berlin Free Tour- Sam (Noble) the Man”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

If (like us) you are in Berlin for the night life, galleries, graffiti ridden streets, underground bars and warehouse parties, but feel guilty about not experiencing the amazing sites of touristy West Berlin, then this tour is perfect as it covers most of them in just two hours.

We wanted a quick overview of the main events, sites and some architectural facts, interjected with some local knowledge and witty anecdotes...and we had to look no further than Mr Sam Noble, a fellow Englishman, and terrific tour guide. The Berlin Free Tours start at 11am outside the Starbucks at the Brandenburg gate. The group was a good size (around 20), and Sam was great at keeping everyone together, and finding sheltered spots for us to stand (it was a bit of a miserable rainy Berlin day) and listen to his wonderfully historically accurate and engaging accounts of Berlin's past. We stopped for a coffee/ food/ toilet break half way through, which made the two hour long tour seem very manageable indeed. Sam put 100% of himself into the tour, answering any questions, and engaging in conversation with all members of the tour group, a very confident and intelligent young man!

The tours run on a volunteer basis, but the guides make their money from donations. Sam told us he was studying for his PhD, so I assumed it would be rude to pay him any less than the going rate for a 2hr walking city tour (around 12euro per person), considering this was funding his studies. However Sam really gave it his all, we learnt so much, and were constantly engaged with what we has saying, so we decided to tip a bit more.

I highly recommend this tour to ANYONE who wants to find out a bit more about the history of Berlin, and have some quality entertainment at the same time.

“Thank you Paul for a great tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013 via mobile

Our guide was called Paul, an Aussie from Perth who has lived in Berlin for the last six and a half years. My friend had done this 'free tour' a few years ago and it had made an impression on her so we repeated it and it certainly did not disappoint under the guidance of Paul who was professional, interesting and informative. So much so that we booked a 'paid' tour for the following day, again with Paul , this time to travel out to Potsdam where Paul flexed his memory even further with a lot of interesting facts on Frederick the Great and other worthy emperors as he trawled us around their palaces and gardens. A lot of walking and information to absorb in this five hour tour, but well worth the effort.

the tour is very interesting and fun, my guide was very good and had wide knowledge about Berlin's history.
It is customary to tip the guide at the end of the tour.

“Stephanie was full of amazing history.”

Saw some of the major attractions and yea there is tipping at the end but there is obligation. So you know you are getting their best or they won't get paid.
