“It was quite average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

If you've been to any other markets in the world, this one is not one that will blow your mind
Lots of fresh produce being sold, that's about it. Some food stores here and there with some turkish cuisine, but nothing to blow your mind.

Can probably give it a miss if you only have a short trip in Berlin

“enjoy the hustle and bustle!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

The Turkish market (on Tuesdays and Fridays, by the canal in Kreuzberg) is a real market with lots of people selling their wares and loads of people shopping. So making your way through the market can be a real feat. You can get some delicious prepared foods (love the gozleme!) and loads of fresh vegetables. For quilters, there is a good variety of 100% cotton fabrics plus other fabrics for sewers. I always look forward to seeing what I can find on our trips to Berlin. If you don't like crowds, go early. We went on a Tuesday between 10 and 10:30 this November; some vendors were still setting up, and it was quite easy to get around.

“Cultural delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012 via mobile

Must do in Berlin is to spend an hour or two strolling through these markets. From fairy floss, to kalamata olives, to delicious dips, it's fun to try and buy! After you can choose from one of the authentic restaurants around in the Kreutzberg area, also known as "little Istanbul"

Worth getting to by underground, colourful foods and spices and fabrics, you'd think you were in Turkey! Good atmsophere

“All kinds of Goodies; A Pleasant Surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

We were fortunate to be in Berlin during one of two days this market opens in the week. We really didn't have much expectations there and was just thinking to kill some time. The market was surprisingly well run with lots of stands for both food(meat&veggies&bakery), snacks, as well as textiles and jewelry goods. Prices were more than reasonable compared to other places in Berlin and we tried some food and coffee/tea there. All were high quality.
Overall, a good place to enjoy for a couple hours.
