“Der Englisher Garten”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Amongst the dust laden trails and the naked Germans, the gory statues and the victory monument lies a quiet part of the Tiergarten designated "The English Garden". Coots and Moorhen swim up and down a village pond, nuthatches investigate grubs beneath the bark of an oak tree and a cool German beer awaits you (or a cup of tea) in the tea house at the end of the garden. A lovely way to spend a morning in Berlin.

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Went there with some friends after a long day walking around Berlin and it was just magical. What i loved about it was that it was not completely managed and pruned. We lay in the wild open grass in the sun for hours and walked around the entire park. Really was stunning.

“Takes time but it is worth it!”

A huge place to go and see different species. Lots of animals in decent kept places. Loved the manatees and the crocodiles. Worth the visit.

“Tierpark”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

I have been to a bunch of zoos in Germany and this one has been tops so far. There are so many animals to look at and the park is set up really nice. There are plenty of paths and lots of trees and flowers everywhere. You feel like you are walking in park and then all of a sudden you are seeing elephants and zebras. This zoo had the most type of large cats that I have seen and a large selection of mountain animals. They are remodeling some areas of the zoo and you can tell that some of the cages look dated. You also need to remember that this is one of two zoos located in Berlin. Because the city was split into two there was zoo in the West German side and one in the East German side. This zoo was not that packed and there were a lot of German school groups there. I was there for 6 hours with my wife and daughter and we weren't able to see everything. Very large. The cost is not that bad at all either with it being 12 euros per person with kids under 5 free. There are two parking lots for the zoo one by each entrance and it costs 4 euros but make sure you have coins because there is no attendant and you can't use bills.
