“Great location in a dynamic city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2012

We were looking for a hotel in the center close to our son's work. We found this hotel at a very good price for a cold January weekend. It was very centrally situated on Friederickstr, one of the main shopping streets in Mitte, and about 20 meters from the S bahn stop. Although, sometimes we could hear the trains. We could also walk to the main museums on the island, to Unter den Linden, as well as the Brandenburg Gate, Gendarme square. The hotel was very modern, had just been built a few months ago, had free wifi. Furthermore, the hotel had an indoor pool (unfortunately the water was relatively cold!), and 2 saunas, so we could relax after a day's shopping or site-seeing. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and multi-lingual.

I' ve been to a few places and stayed in various hotels mostly 4 stars and some 5 ones.Eurostars is said to be a five star hotel.I read some reviews saying that its at most a 4 star hotel.I say its a 5 minus hotel and this because of minor things. Some of these are soundproof of the rooms(some noise of the rooms aside and the train) and also maybe not so much quantity regarding the breakfast buffet. For me these are seriously minor stuff.
Location in Berlin is the most important thing in your visit.Eurostars has the BEST location you can imagine.First outside the hotel and in a 2 MINUTE walk there are U and S Bahn (aka subway and train) that lead to the most central places in Berlin. Two stops from Alexanderplatz ,three stops from Halleshes Tor which is the station where you can take the U1 to Charlottenbourgh and east berlin across east side gallery. If you dont want the subway Eurostars is a ten minute walk to the MUSEUM ISLAND(including 5 museums and two of the best museums of the world the Pergamon museum and the east cultures museum), a ten minute walk to Checkpoint Charlie, a ten minute walk to the Brandeburg gate,Parliament and Tiergarten park and also a fifteen minute walk to Alexanderplatz which includes the TV tower and some churches to see.So some say the location of the hotel is great.I say its the greatest that can be.And in Berlin this is the most important thing.
Regarding the hotel itself. Its a great building with very beautiful design inside. The staff of the hotel is very kind and helpfull. They can book some tickets for you(ask for a booking to the TV tower). The rooms are big enough and very clean with everyday cleaning and a bathroom with villeroy-boch and bathtub included.
Regarding price. We booked for 5 nights for 580 euros breakfast included.Thats a normal price for a new and clean hotel.Keep in mind that there is FREE WIFI with good speeds when in other hotels(etc Hilton ) is almost 20euros a day.So the price is seriously good for a big city with lots of tourists.
All in all a great hotel on a perfect location and i would really highly recommended it to everyone.

Room Tip: If you are a couple ask for a double bed because most rooms have twin beds.

We stayed in 5 nights after Christmas at this Hotel. Booked it because of the good ratings and the location in the area we wanted to spend most of our time. I was not aware that it is this close to the subway and railway line which is one of the best benefits. Basically just 100m from the subway line.
Also the hotel is very new, modern and generally very clean. Staff is friendly and generally helpful, though my experience with the check in staff wasn't that great as she could have shared a lot more information and answered questions better. The other staff were a lot more helpful when approaching them.
Breakfast was good but the restaurant got very crowded however space got quickly available should there be some waiting prior seating required.
Car parking space is also very limited and the hotel staff can not reserve or guarantee space. But there is ample of parking opportunities around the hotel for same or even less charge.

Would for sure stay there again.

Room Tip: 7th floor and up got a good view.

I stayed in the hotel with my husband 23 -26/12/2011.The location is perfect and the room is very good. Although I made a reservation that did not required payment in advance they tried to be payed before I got in the hotel.I knew this when I booked the hotel(from another review!) and that is why I gave them an invalid card, because I wanted to pay in cash. In few words , when I checked in, they asked me 50€ more for guarantee because I didn't have a valid card and they would give it me back when I was going to leave the hotel. When I checked out they did not recognize that I gave them guarantee!!!!After yelling for many minutes they gave me my 50€ and the manager told me that she is paying this money from her salary!!! For the end, DO NOT PAY FOR THE BREAKFAST!! There are plenty shops around the hotel where you can get anything much more cheaper! Great location again!!!We didn't need any transportation for all our sightseeing! And clean room! But be carefull with the money please!!!!!!!!!

Stayed here with a small family of 4 (3adults and a 3yr old) over 4nights and although the temperature of Berlin was at its coldest this winter, the hotel staff and facilities made it warm and cosy. We did no try the breakfast as the variety of food you get within minutes from walking out of the lobby is enormous. The S-Bahn is literally just next door (you can see the trains coming into the station from some of the room windows) and there is a McDonald's below it for those craving for a familiar breakfast in the morning. Bratwurst, other standard german faire all within a stone throw away. The extra bed was a full size single which is way better than the standard roll aways you get even in some of the best 5star hotels. As comfortable as the queen or king bed just smaller.

Room Tip: All rooms come with double glass windows so its very quiet

Choose the Eurostars Berlin If you're looking for:
- 4/5-star hotel that is easy to get to and right in the middle of everything. If you arrive with the S2 or S5 to Fredrichstrasse station, all you have to do is cross to the other side of the stree and the hotel is right there down a very short side street. There's a big 'Eurostars' sign at the top. Look for 'The Blockhouse' restaurant (right across from the S and U-bahn) and turn down that small street.
- a nice roomy bathroom with an excellent shower (moonsoon/rainforest). The robes and slippers were a really nice touch. There is also a 'real' hairdryer, and not one of those mini-ones attached to the wall.
- an excellent breakfast buffet with plenty of choice (scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, coldcuts, cheeses, sallad section, cereal + muesli section, different types of yoghurt, breads, muffins, crepes, fruits, etc, etc)
- a beautiful swimming pool and sauna area along with a nice but modest-sized gym
- possibility of early check-in (we were lucky to check-in at 9.30am) or late check-out (15:00)
and ability to leave your luggage behind the reception area.
- Free wifi in the entire hotel /rooms.
- We were even given a complimentary wine/beer + single tapas at the hotel bar.
- Two internet terminals in the lobby.
- Rental bikes for 12€ a day.

What could be improved:
- The overall attitude of some of the receptionists. Some of them were cold fish, while some of them couldn't have been more helpful and were so nice. I was very impressed with the cleaning staff, they always said 'hello' or 'Merry Christmas' even if standing down the hallway.
- They need to offer a pillow menu. I have stayed at other Eurostars where a pillow menu was provided and so I was surprised when they didn't have one and was told I had to choose from the two in my room.
- While the shower is excellent and I could have stayed in there way too long, it needs a proper shower door to keep the floor from getting sprayed with water.

Berlin and the Eurostars hotel are both fantastic!

Room Tip: We had an inward-facing room on the 5th floor and heard absolutely nothing.

Stayed one night before travelling on to Poland, so wanted a good central Berlin location and comfortable accomodation. We were not disappointed!! The room was amazing, huge comfortable bed, full mini bar with reasonable prices and an immaculate bathroom! We had breakfast included and went down fairly late, expecting there to be very little left. This was not the case, there was still an exstensive selection, keeping us full for the journey to Poland. Exceptional hotel for a good price!!
