“Perfect for a budget city break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

Although this hotel is about a 25 minute tram ride from the city centre, I enjoyed being able to see more of Berlin than the tourist attractions. The service was great, the breakfast was even better! Rooms are dated, but when you are there for a few nights, barely spending any time in the room - this is not an issue at all. Very good value for money - would definitely recommend.

Was staying there for one night only and at a price for 59 Euro, we got an ok value for the money.
The rooms look like straight from an 80's road movie but were tidy and clean and had a good view towards the city centre (my room was 15th floor). The breakfast was really good and the staff attentive. The restaurant/bar with integrated bowling lane was a bit run though.

I knew what was waiting for me because i looked at the pics before making a reservation. The rooms and the whole hotel look like from the 80's but they were clean and the breakfast that was in the price was great. The staff was very helpful, only bad thing is that you have to pay 13 euro per day for internet using in the rooms. In the lobby you can use it for free, just have to ask for the password. We were on the 7th floor but the view was just some buildings.

We spent 4 nights here as a couple on a short break, with my elderly mother in an adjacent room. The hotel is a converted block of flats in an unattractive area of the Eastern half. It is functional in terms of decor but the rooms are comfortable and the showers very good. The staff are very helpful and you can buy tram tickets - the "small group" day ticket at 16 euros was good for the three of us. Berlin has a great transport system with tube, buses, trains and trams which you can use with this ticket. The S41/42 "Ring" train is very helpful for getting around to the other side of the city and the 100 and 200 buses from Alexanderplatz are great for central sightseeing. We visited Spandau which is very nice - the Satt und Selig restaurant by the church is highly recommended. The hotel price included breakfast which is excellent - the coffee and the cherry yoghurt are especially good! You can eat in the evening from a limited but OK menu in the bar area of the bowling alley - not exactly an attractive lounge but we enjoyed it - the beer and wine are good. Try the "trocken" Riesling if you like dry wines. You need to be a good walker and not to mind tram travel to use this hotel - we all got on fine. Only minor downside was that the rooms were overheated at night but you can open the windows to sort this.

Room Tip: We were on top floor facing west with good views to the city centre - nice!

The Hotel is in an industrial area away from the centre. The hotel is reasonably priced for Berlin. The romms are ok but the Green carpet throughout, Yuk! The bathroom is compact but the shower cubicle excellent. Good TV with BBC world. The rooms/Hotel far to hot for me. My room had free WIFI + Mini bar with a few bottles in free. There is a Skittle alley down stairs but does affect the rooms at all. You acn get basic Pizza + Flam kitchen food but no restaurant. Good bar in the Skittle Alley which transferes to the hotel reception area after midnight.Good tram service out side the M6 takes you everywhere for 2.6euros. The breakfast is very good, hot and cold food nicely laid out. The only thing is it would appear to be the main route to the hospital, get a room at the back.

Room Tip: Choose an odd number room at the back and as high in the 16 floors you can get.

The only reason it didn't get four stars is that it's out of the way and the only this close by for food is an ikea. Which actually makes a tasty goose by the way. Of course I didn't realize it was goose at the time because I speak no German o-O. Oh the unexpected surprises of travelling.
Other then that the rooms are clean and quiet. The breakfast is generous and tasty.
The best way to get there is to get to Alexanderplatz station first. Everything seems to lead to Aleksanderplatz by the way. Then take the M6 tram to Lansberger Allee/Rhinstrausse and you'll see the hotel down the street. Be careful as there is more than one Lansberger Allee stop.
If you don't mind being out of the way this is a fantastic choice.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

Spent 3 nights here with my girlfriend. We had a good stay.
- The hotel is about 25 minutes' tram ride from the centre, and only a 2 minute walk from the tram stop.
- Although the decor is tired, the room and bathroom were clean and perfectly acceptable.
- We had twin beds, apparently there are no double rooms in this hotel.
- Breakfast was excellent. All you can eat with a wide selection.
- Wi-Fi was in reception but was very slooooow.
- There is a bowling alley adjoined to the hotel with a pool table too.

If you're looking for a budget hotel and don't mind being a commute from the city centre, then this is a good bet.
