We stayed here 9-12 December with my parents (in 2 rooms - 829 and 827). Our rooms were at the very top and back of the hotel and we had no issues with outside noise. However my mum in room 829 struggled with the noise from the guests next to them blaring their tv at all times of the night.
The rooms themselves are quite small however they were perfect to be used as a base. They were very clean and comfortable. The bed (2 single divans joined together) was extremely comfy as are the pillows, the only downside however is that it is made with 2 single duvet covers but in all honesty that was expected. Watch out for extra charges - there is a bottle of water on the desk as you walk in the room - which after a long flight and walk was much needed however I noted it had a label on it charging 3 euros, my mum wasn't so aware and ended up being charged.
We didn't have breakfast so that cannot be commented on.
Checking in and out was quick and without any hitches. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially on check out.
I've seen reviews commenting on how people couldn't get on to their 30-minute free wifi. This must have been looked into as now they use the cloud and a free service if you just enter in your room number and last name. We all used it on our phones and had no problems with it what-so-ever.
Tip: If you are getting the train get off at Zoologischer Garten, from there the hotel is a 5-10 minute walk. We made the mistake of getting off at Charlottensberg and ended up having about an hours walk.
