“Great stay, fantastic room and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Berlin was an anniversary present for me and my partner, we found an amazing deal for the hotel and booked it, the room was really nice, modern, clean and comfortable.
The staff were really nice and really helped us out if we had any questions. The Hotel is in a good location and right next to a U bahn or a 10min walk saway from the zoological gardens which was where we went the most as it had all the major connections to the tourist areas.
We didn't go into the restaurant or order room service because the prices were really high so i cannot comment on that, but the decor and atmosphere was nice.
The only bad things I can say about the stay was that we would have really liked to use the internet but for that much money it was ridiculous, we had to go to a Starbucks instead. Hotels should offer free or low priced wifi nowadays.
The room itself was modern but could be confusing at times as to where the cupboards are, as they are built into the panel walls, it looks cool but it can be a bit hit and miss and you might find yourself playing the 'wheres the cupboard door' game.
The room we stayed in didn't really have much of a view, and looked onto other peoples rooms and other apartment buildings. The wall to the bathroom is actually glass and some people might not like this, it is also odd that the door for the shower and toilet is sliding, meaning that if you slide to close the door on the loo, the shower opens. Strange but I guess its kind of quirky.

2 adults and two boys 12. We had the two bedrooms suite, and the boys loved theire room with tv and bath. Lovly bathrooms. We also took advantage of the pool and gym. Yes, A bit hot for a workout, but Nice still.

The WIFI worked like a treat. We got it for free.

Breakfast expensive, but delicious. We mostly Made our own.

Staff most helpfull.

Great location near Ubahn and KaDeWe.

Warm appartement, as it was chilling minus 15 in the night outside.

We stayed in SANA Berlin for New Years in 2011, and decided to return this year as well. It really is a great hotel. Compared to our stays in Brussels, Paris and Amsterdam, the Junior suite was great value for money being such a large space.

Clean rooms, large bathroom area, 2 toilets, lounge in our suite. The staff are very friendly and helpful with the complex U/S Bahn system, and the hotel is close to the K'Damm shopping District, Berlin Zoo and also the Motzstrassee area which some very interesting shops! but also some great restaurants.

The hotel also has a small sauna/pool and gym which can vary from relaxing (if you catch it on a quiet time) to crazy hectic if its busy.

Berlin really is an awesome city and I have no problems flying from Australia to spend a week there. I'd definitely recommend the Berlin SANA Hotel.

Room Tip: Go for a corner Junior suite.

Great location, convenient to lots of restaurants, Kadewe, metro, etc. Very cool, modern hotel, but not practical. Very dark, too dark to shave or put on make up, closet was too dark to put anything in. doors that slide to open one door close another. Just wasn't a place you could feel like you could settle into. The sliding doors didn't slide very easily and getting out of the closed shower door was a real chore (needed my husband to open it from the outside).Lobby was very smokey and the hall was smokey at times as well. Never smelled smoke it the room however. Room was too hot at night and with window open it was too noisy. Breakfast was wonderful. Spa area was not my favorite. Most German saunas are without clothing, but this one require bathing suit and as their info didn't say that we were not prepared with our bathing suits. The steam shower was off more than it was on. Staff was ok. Didn't go out of their way, weren't too friendly, but certainly did their job and were not rude. Might stay here again, might not.

Our room on the top floor had floor to ceiling windows with access to a private balcony with city views. The design of the room was very nice, creative and meaningful. Some hi tech touches mixed with comfort made the experience truly exciting.

Although the hotel was clearly understaffed, the service was excellent. With limited resources, the staff was always trying to make guests comfortable.

We only stopped for 1 night (unfortunately) and we did not eat at the hotel so I cannot comment on housekeeping and breakfast.

Nice little pool with steam room and sauna on 7th floor as well.

Location is good with a U bahn station next to the hotel and a mere 10 minutes walk to Zoologishes Garten main station.

Definitely our next stop when visiting Berlin again.

Stayed for three nights with my girlfriend last spring.

Very nice spacious room (had the standard double room) with luxury furnishing and modern bathroom with lovely shower. Some view aswell and the windows could be opened. Felt like a design hotel.

Pleasant big breakfast buffet with a lot of choices even for a vegetarian.

Enjoyed the modern pool and sauna area, quit and during the evening only a few persons there.

The location is a bit off central parts of town, not a lot of great bars and restaurants but taxi is cheap in Berlin compared to other major European cities. Also the metro AKA u-bahn is located only one minute walk from the hotel.

We spent to afternoons just walking around the neighboorhood Kreuzberg which is a hipster area with a lot of good food and nice bars. Easy to reach with the metro. Go there!

A bad expirience was when we had asked the hotel for a taxi. Had to wait almost 20 minutes instead of the promised 5 minutes. The frontdesk staff at that time had now intention to excuse or explain the situation.

Overall a great hotel mostly because the pleasent room!

A very good choice :
- good location
- small but good fitness center included in room price
- comfortable, large and quiet room
- friendly staff
We get upgraded due to overbooking.
Breakfast and wifi not included in room price: a pity!
