“A Moving Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

I find myself using the term, "moving" a lot when describing places in Berlin. I think I do this because Berlin's history is the world's history. I am part of the generation that grew up with the Berlin Wall. I never thought I'd see the day when it would come down. It was just a part of our world. To be able to see it now in this manner is amazing. My first response to it was surprise that it was so thin. I expected it to look thicker and more imposing. No one should miss this!

“Learn a thing”

Well preserved, worth a visit even for some painful and poignant remembrance of the past, important site that people must see even unassuming and alarming in a unobtrusively manner... A must...!

“What a hoax!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

This memorial is not even where the wall was, and there is no remaining section of the original wall even nearby. Don't bother.

“Great memorial”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

It is really well done - very factual and no hiding anything that happened. I learnt quite a bit and it was nice to be able to touch the wall.

“A sobering experience - but an important one.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

I dislike the fact that the Berlin Wall was built in the first place. It was a cowardly act by a regime who had no legitimacy among the people. So they made their own citizens prisoners in their own country.

It is painful, poignant history, but it must be seen, so we learn the mistakes of the past so we can prevent them from occurring in the future.

Another wall similar in nature exists today - it is called the Jerusalem Wall - dividing Jerusalem in two. Building walls between people solves nothing. learning to live together and accepting one another is the only way to live life.
