“Good food, nice restaurant, but overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

I was lucky to get invited to this restaurant for a business lunch. I was recommended the duck, which was really nice, but not the best I've tasted (I've had better in Paris or Guangzhou). The atmosphere was nice, the japanese tableware was very delicate, food was good (although the servings were rather on the small side, I was still hungry when leaving), service was perfect. I'm glad I wasn't the one paying in the end, though.
This is not a restaurant I'll go to ever again: Berlin is full of super nice, not so expensive restaurants where one can get a fantastic meal in a nice place, and spend less than 50-60 euro per person. For the kind of price we (well, my boss) paid, I'd have expected something better.

“Nearly...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

This restaurant is purportedly haute cuisine, Michelin-star class and it achieves this in terms of the quality of the food. However, when you consider some other aspects, mainly service and the interior, it is not fully reaching the expectations - although it is still very good. For example, most of the waiters were all quite professional, gregarious and helpful. Then there was our rather sour-faced, belligerent waitress who you might expect to see working in an appliance store rather then a sophisticated, upscale Berlin restaurant. We ended up requesting a different waiter and the afternoon was spared. We ordered a multi-course tasting menu and were impressed by the refinement and cool elegance of nearly each dish.

“Amazing dining experience worth a trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

Everything was great from the very beginning until the end. At the first you happen to get 8 amuse bouches at once with Krug by the glass at a fair price. I went for the 7 course menu (unique incl. The Peking duck), and i had definitely no complain about any of these courses, as a highlight for me was the lobster, Peking duck served in three parts and the raspberry dessert. All so tasty and the presentation is simple yet beautiful and so clean. Service is relaxed yet very profesional! Outstanding wine list where you can find some treasures such as Jacques Sellose, JF Coche-Dury or Francois Raveneau. A must visit when in Berlin and even worth taking a long trip!
