“Disappointing this is not a real luxury hotel more like a 3*”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014 via mobile

Our room was very disappointing, the amount of problems was not what you expect from a Kempinski. Light where broken, the bed covers where very old and the fabric was torn, there was a strong bad smell in the bathroom all the time, the light in the bedroom was insufficient the front door did not seal at all and a lot of noise came into the room. When I pointed all this to hotel I was told the hotel has two sections a new renovated and the old one, I think the hotel should not sale these rooms when they know they are not at the Kempinski standards.
Very disappointing there are other hotels that are better and at a better price.
I will not go back to this hotel.
Very disappointed!

Very easy to get to from airport (Tegel) via the 109/X9 bus. Also good location as next to "tube" stop and Starbucks. We went to SB for breakfast (more reasonable than the €17/person/day if not included in room rate!).

Overall very much enjoyed stay here with all the staff being friendly and helpful - also enjoyed some cocktails in the bar on the last night.

Only issue was the air conditioning which didn't work. We rang reception and they gave us a very cheap fan which helped but not really what I was expecting from a hotel like this! Room as a consequence was very hot at night.

I booked this as part of a deal on lastminute.com and we had a great time. The room is a little on the small side, but was immaculate, very quiet and the reception team and other staff we met were excellent. We didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on that, but there are some lovely restaurants near Sauvigny Platz, a short walk away. The location is excellent, right by Uhlandstrasse underground and the bus 109 from Tegel airport stops about 50m from the hotel. Reception booked us a taxi for 4.30 am this morning and it was there at 4.25, so thank you for a lovely stay.

The hotel has class, style, charm and service which five star hotels lack. The hotel brings back the charm from yesteryear and takes the guest back to the traditional days when hotels knew how to look after their guest. Nothing was a hassle and the staff were some of the best which in have dealt with in my travels.

You expect more for your 4 star rating, it has everything you need and most importantly is clean, but staff seemed disinterested and overall it lacked the wow factor. Right next to train track and is on a the famous ku'dam do pręty miody by night but we found The location great as everything you need is on the doorstep

This hotel is in a great location for 'first time' visitors to Berlin - right on the circular tour bus route and with an underground station very close by. The staff are charming and the service is very good. We enjoyed our breakfasts (part of the package) and also one evening meal in the bistro but there are plenty of other bars and restaurants close by. Our standard room faced the side street and it was very quiet. I would guess that the location is approximate to Regent Street/Oxford Street with excellent shopping but much calmer and more relaxed than London. I would be very happy to stay here again! Although the circular bus tour is a bit expensive (15 euros 12 seniors) it offers great views of the city with an excellent commentary & you can hop on and off for for further sightseeing &
eating and drinking.

Room Tip: Probably better value when booked as part of a package
