“Spectacular”

Incredible cathedral. Amazing reconstruction--the whole dome was completely destroyed in WWII. So nice to be able to climb up to the top of the dome too, great views of the city. Must do!

“A Baroque Riot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

Last time I saw this cathedral I was on a student visit of the Eastern Bloc countries. It was a ruin and there was no dome, courtesy of the 1945 Russian and British bombing and firestorm.
This time it was gloriously restored and utterly beautiful.

The only weak part of the experience was that despite the expensive ticket price there was no audio guide equipment. I saw a number and a headphone symbol on many tombs and other significant details of the cathedral and I went back to the curator to ask for the audio tour. She just said: "Oh, it takes over two hours - too long. Here, better read about it in this brochure!" and she handed me the a 1 page booklet.

Its exceptional ,because both exterior and interior are fantastic with a sense of glory and art.Colors were used appropriately ،not in luxurious manner but in a very proportionate and artistic level.

“A must see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

I paid student rate to get in (5 euros I think) I don't begrudge that as there are even signs that say why - they don't get funding from the state. It was lovely, spent a long time wandering around, and visited the crypt. I even went back for souvenirs to further support the good work of the cathedral. The dome was closed for refurbishment, but I still really enjoyed it. Stunning, beautiful, peaceful. I would definitely go again.

“Beautiful Building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

This is right next to Museum Island and close to lots of other attractions, for that reason alone you cannot miss it. It is an impressive and stunning building. We only paid 4 euros each to go inside as we had a 3-day travel pass which gives you a discount to a number of attractions, and there were no queues although it was in January! If the queues aren't too long then I would certainly recommend going inside. It is beautiful, much as you would expect in a Cathedral of that stature. The tour includes a walk around the parapet with beautiful views over Berlin. This would depend on whether you have already seen the same views from one of the other attractions, if not, then worth it just for the views and photo opportunities.
