“A Symbol of Germany”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

This is powerful reminder of the destruction of war and the rebuilding of modern Germany. The old steeple was bombed during World War II and the ruins of the steeple are now a memorial to what was and how it was destroyed. The new area is a reminder of rebuilding and the new Germany.
It's a sober reminder of what happened to Germany during the 1940s.
The new area is dynamic with blue windows that seem to sing with light. It's unique and powerful as you walk in.
This church should not be missed on your visit to Berlin.

“Outside of the church is covered”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

The outside is covered in an aluminum shell for conservation until mid 2013. Probably not worth the effort to go until the restoration work is done.

“Still beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

Visited Berlin 26 years ago and one of my memories was the stain glass in the church , it was just as I remembered. Only down side was that the old church was covered .

“hidden church”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

We spent few days in Berlin and this church was on our todo list. We spent around one hour looking for it and eventually i tought it was something wrong with me... but no... This church is just covered due to renovation. You can go inside. But its only remainings of the tower connected with small modern building. When you see something looking like a construction site... you are in the right place.
You dont need much time to see this church and its very intresting experience, but you need to find it first.

“Blue space”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

There was a concert with a bit of religious touch, organ, violin, chorus, two tenors. Very nice and you not requested to pay but at the end you can contribute something to the ladies at the exit. There wasn't a lot of tourists but mainly locals.
