“Very moving”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2014 NEW

This is an extremely good exhibition, situated in the grounds where the SS/Gestapo had a number of their offices; a real must see if you're in Berlin and a history buff (like me).
A well thought out and organised exhibition, it charts the rise of Adolf Hitler, with focus on how he built support, the rise of the SA and SS, the secret state, leading into the "Final Solution" and post war years.
Very thought provoking, moving and educational. Free entry as well.

“A visit inside the headquarters of evil ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2014 NEW

Don't expect to see real exhibits like torture chambers or something. This place will tell you the story of the horror with pictures, documents and personal stories. Make sure you have more than 3 hours to spend in this place. It's definitely a must visit place.

“No cost, presented extremely well, and in order”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2014 NEW

Visited this Museum in December 2014, and was very impressed. There is no charge to get in, and everything is laid out perfectly. The material starts in early 1930 and explains the rise of Nazism throughout Germany. The exhibits then go through the years and explain the impact. It ends with post war ideas in popular culture. You could spend 2-3 hours here and leave knowing it was time well spent. There is a lot of material, so take a break at some of the tv stations that are set up. They show short films on the topic in that section.

You should put this Museum on your list of places to visit. Some pictures/information is a little rough, but I think most children over 8 or 9 can handle the concepts.

“Emotional but necessary”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2014 NEW

Very interesting - even though very emotional... It's thought provoking - part of world history not just German history... But something I found odd - is the Germans attempt at obliterating anything to do with hitler... Not just here but in general in berlin.

From one standpoint I can understand - but from another this is something that younger generations need to know... It's important stuff. It happened and we need to acknowledge it.

We think we all have all seen stuff but this makes you see how organised it was. The need to explain though how he came to power so quickly and adored by the people for at least 10 years... Almost a guru..

Very interesting
