“Breathtaking exhibits”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Incredible exhibition and on a scale you are unlikely to see in any other museum. The panorama exhibit shows Permagon from on high, giving you an idea of how the massive altar was set into the landscape.

“An absolute must”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

On entering the Museum one is faced with the Pergamon Display. It reduced my friend to tears, as it is so beautiful. The Museum is one that one can visit again and again, as there would always be something one would have missed

“Great Museum in Berlin”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

We went to the Pergamon Museum since it was one of the only museums open in Berlin on a Monday. Because of this, the museum was extremely crowded when we arrived at 11 AM. However, the Pergamon Altar and Ishtar Gate were awesome and definitely worth the visit

“Amazing Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

Incredible displays! Just the size alone is enough to impress. The audio guides were extremely useful and easy to operate, allowing you to wander around and hear the information on exhibits in no particular order. Most exhibits were large enough that crowds did not get in your way, you could still appreciate the exhibits if you were not in the front row.
Highly recommended!

“History comes alive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

Amazing archaeological treasures from the middle east - Mesopotamia, Greece and in between.
Lines for tickets are so long that twice we moved on.
Two ways to avoid the lines: buy in advance (even from your hotel) a 3 day museum pass for Berlin at 19 euros, and you go just in, passing the lines.
or
You can enter the lobby of one of the less popular museums on the island (like the alte national gallery just across the street) and buy a ticket there with no line at all. I would suggest anyway to visit the alte gallery as well.
Due to Restoration, large part of the museum was closed - check it out in advance.
Go early (10 am) to avoid the crowd for the first half hour...

From a different perspective - all these pieces of history were taken from others during some remote imperialist periods, and they are now in London, Paris, Berlin...
