“not just another gate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

For me, having seen the gates as a child from the East side it was a special experience to go back and walk through the gate to the "other" side, with no soldiers to stop us. The feeling is a bit distracted by the place being so touristy these days. Visit the Berlin Wall memorial for an even better and sober history experience.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

Went on a day when it was their union day and enjoyed not only the gate but the entertainment and the local gathering. Had cofee at Starbucks sat outside and enjoyed its view in night lights.
Got on to a circular cycle with 6 seater and had fun cycling around the gate for 1 euro each .eat at local stalls and had nice evening

“This is Berlin.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

Until you have seen the Brandenburg Gate and walked through it, you can't say you have really been to Berlin. Beautiful and historic.

“A commanding sight...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

The Brandenburg Tor is definitely worth a look. It's a mighty and commanding sight in a great location.
It's a great starting point for further explorations to see the Reichstag and other key buildings, and is accessible really easily by its own U-Bahn station.

“A beautiful piece of History”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

When visiting Berlin you have to visit Brandenburg Gate. I recomend you walk down the Unter den Linden, visiting other places along the way such as the Berliner Dom.
Visited during the day sadly, i regret that we didn´t see it at night also when all lit up.
Also for Starbucks fans, there is a Starbucks 100m from the Gate.
