“Great location, fab hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

We booked the Adina on the strength of the Tripadvisor reviews. We weren't disappointed. We stayed between Christmas and New Year. Staff were helpful and efficient. Room a nice size with a useful kitchenette we used for breakfast. The maid service was excellent. Hairdryer and Safe in the room which is a must for me. Large fridge to keep beverages in. Supermarkets on the same block to buy your supplies. The hotel also offers a grocery service if you wish.

The best part is the location. Next to a tram stop and Hackescher Markt station, where you're one stop away from Alexanderplatz or Friedrichstrasse Station. You can get to anywhere in Berlin and the outskirts really easily. The area is nice too. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops around Hackescher Markt and Schonhauser Strasse. The Hackescher Hofe are just over the road too.

Hope to visit the city and stay here again soon.

As a solo traveller I wanted something close to transport, tourist sights and museums, clean and if it was stylish then that was even better. This hotel hit all those buttons and more. Well trained friendly staff at the desk were helpful, internet was fast and free in the lobby and the room was fabulous. It was well designed with a comfy bed, good pillows, wonderful steaming hot shower in a stylish bathroom. It was all a tired tourist needed after a hard day! The city was amazing and coming home to my Berlin home away from home made my week long stay perfect. Would certainly stay again and recommend to any friend headed to the fabulous city of Berlin. Check out their advanced booking deals on the hotel website. I got a great room at a bargain!

Room Tip: Studio apartment is very spacious and well designed.

What a great find this hotel was...wonderful location for exploring Berlin, easy access to S-Bahn, great range of local shops and restaurants. We booked a studio room and were pleasantly surprised at the size and facilities. Whilst we only spent 3 nights we could easily have spent more without feeling cramped. Kitchenette was the one of the best we have seen in a studio apartment.

This hotel is in a good location with excellent access to the main sights in Berlin. The usual efficient public transport system makes it easy to get around the city. As for the hotel; well it was just perfect for a three night stay with friends. Our studio rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Good quality fittings show care and detail in the presentation of each room. The only downside was the efficiency of the heating system which made our room extremely hot for sleeping, even when I turned it off. This was despite the fact that it was -10C outside.

The cleaning staff were very good and discreet, only seeing them on our day of departure. The reception staff were well trained and able to deal with all our needs in a polite and courteous manner.

The breakfast was a big hit with my wife and friends as it was with me. A superb range of delicious options were readily available with my friend particularly enjoying the Salmon and Scrambled Egg. We all thought this was the best breakfast spread we had experienced in a long time.

During our stay we enjoyed the hot tub and sauna facilities at the end of a long cold day's sightseeing.

I am glad I did my research for our trip to Berlin, as this hotel exceeded my expectations in every aspect.

I would highly recommend this hotel for anybody considering a visit to this interesting city.

Room Tip: Very good rooms at the back of the hotel offer peace and quiet, although excellent soundproofing in...

Dear Mr JD, what a great review. It really sounds you could enjoy everything what we offer. Starting from the spacious rooms, the good service of my team, the huge selection at the breakfast buffet and our spa facilities. I am sorry that you had problems with the heating., but the cooling is always depending on the difference to the outside temperature and with -10ˆC, most of our guest appreciate a nice warm apartment. Great to read that we exceeded your expectations and we look forward to welcome you soon again. Kind regards Annette Jost

This hotel does not deserve its high rating on trip advisor :
_ The rates varied every night in spite of the fact that the occupancy was low and much the same every night - we had variations of as much as 40 euros per night - hotel is playing games with the customer and pretending that it is much busier on some nights than others - we left because we felt that the constantly changing rate was totally unjustified
_ The decor is like something out of a 70s motel - everything is black ( walls , floors and paintings on the walls ) - there are too many cheap objects throughout the room - curtains by contrast are orange and most unattractive
_ There was no proper lighting in the rooms as the decorator obviously thought that mood lighting in the form of lamps was a better idea - unfortunately it just felt gloomy
_

Dear richard g, I am sorry that you did not liked our hotel at all, although it was not the first
time you stayed with us. Regarding the offered rates, which are yielded daily in reference to
demand and availability, they were clearly stated before you made your reservation and written immediately on the confirmation you received online. So it was your deliberate choice to accept them and I am glad that we could agree that you leave us earlier in order to find a hotel where you felt more comfortable. Kind regards Annette Jost

I'll definitely stay again at this hotel. This hotel can be reached by the TXL bus and close to the S-bahn station as well as the Tram station. Bus 100 & 200 which are famous to tourists also stop very near the hotel. Everything is just around the corner: Kamps (bakery & cafe), Kaiser's (supermarket), dm (drugstore), and even the Asian grocery! Rooms are clean and spacious.
The only downside is that Internet is not free (both for wired and wireless). It costs 3.5 EUR for three hours. However, you can get a free id/password that can be used in the lobby/bar area for one hour. If you are lucky, that can be also used in your room. The id/password expires after one hour so you have to obtain another one from the front desk. Oh, one more thing: there is no bathtub in the bathroom.

Having never been to Berlin before and not being familiar with the city layout I spent an extensive amount of time looking for the right hotel. I thought the Adina seemed a safe bet, but I couldn't believe how perfect it was when we arrived!

Hackescher Market is a trendy, arty, place full of boutique shops and bars. It's the perfect base to get to know the city from, and reassuringly safe and comforting to return to. The S-Barn, Museum island, checkpoint charlie and the wall are all within walking distance. Stumbled across Tacheles and the Anne Frank museum which were both fantastic and a stones throw from the hotel too.

The hotel itself was extremely clean and modern, but still warm and welcoming. Staff were always friendly and helpful - including bar staff who remembered us and our "usuals".

I'm a light sleeper and always worry about noise in hotels, so I requested room on a high floor upon booking, which we got, although I needn't have worried as the road below is very quiet, and we never heard a peep from any of the other guests. The room was huge, with a fantastic view of the TV tower. It really felt like home, and we really didn't want to leave. We're already looking at flights back!

This really was one of the best hotel's i've ever stayed in, and I can't recommend highly enough.

Comfortable, safe, quiet, modern, clean, spacious.

My only criticism would be the spa (one of the reasons we booked infact) as the sauna was out of order and Jacuzzis were lukewarm.

Stayed Jan 10th - 14th 2013 in a one bed apartment.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view. Wi-fi codes can be used in the bar and in room.

Dear Loran_88, many thanks for taking the time for the nice review and the compliments on
My team. I am glad to read that although you are a light sleeper, the windows kept the noise far away from you and that you felt like home away from home. What a great compliment that you consider our hotel as one of the best you stayed in before. I am sorry that the sauna was out of service, but we had to some service on it. I promise during your next stay, we make sure that also the wellness area will suit your needs. Looking forward to your return. Kind regards Annette Jost
