“Fabulous eating experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

We stayed at the adjoining Casa Camper Hotel, and had a delightful evening at this Asian tapas bar. Sat at the bar and watched all the food preparation. We ordered the 15 course selection for two and had food we had never before tasted, but all was exotic, delicious and very satisfying.

“An experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012 via mobile

We were excited for our dinner, but the restaurant itself is cold and no atmosphere. The food was an experience, happy we have tried it. I think you have to go knowing it will be expensive but very interesting!

“Extraordinary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

We had the 17 course menu and in the beginning also wondered if we would be full by the end, due to the tiny portions. But indeed we were quite satisfied and not at all over full. Each dish was very good or better. On the surface some things sounded or looked odd, but in all cases the combination of flavors was amazing! A very unique experience with very attentive and friendly service and delicious food.

“Fab!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

Had read reviews of this place before arriving in Berlin and had booked for the Friday night. Ended up having too many folk tagging along so cancelled in the hope of visiting another time. Was wandering hungover around the streets near the Hotel Amano where I was staying looking for a brunch place when I happened upon Dos Palillos. Not exactly brunch but every dish hit the mark. Started with kimchi with jellyfish. Amazing! Spicy and toothsome veg with the textural addition of the jellyfish. Great start! To accompany I had a rose sake. Can't recall the exact name but for sure this, combined with the kimchi, was a hangover cure par excellence! Next up was the char siew bao steamed dumplings. Lovely pork and veg filling that was perfectly seasoned and spiced. Excellent texture to the bun and quite filling. Next up was their japo burger. A sort of slider with a steamed bun. Top notch meat and lovely combo of crisp radish and shiso leaf, again well seasoned. A two-bite piece of perfection! Moved on to a succulent Spanish white wine, Botani. Had the stir fried squid and vegetables. Lovely mix of super well cooked squid and crunchy veg with what looked and tasted like Turkish saffron strands on top. Then on to the total high point; prawn dumplings with pork belly. Plain fantastic. Light as a feather wonton wrapper just holding together perfect prawns mixed with tender fatty pork and some pimenton for extra breadth. I had two portions of these (greedy swine!). At this point I'm sure I had another wine but I was in a bit of a swoon about the food. Ended up chatting with the head chef about music and food and more. My waitress was wonderful and the rest of the staff I met were extremely courteous and friendly. I'd go back there in a heartbeat. Next stop will be the Barcelona branch. I really can't recommend this place enough.

“Great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

Berlin isn't known to be a food town. Finding something special and more importantly different is difficult.

At €70 for 19 course of Japanese-Spanish fusion, it really isn't expensive for what you are getting.

They all relied on the Japanese kaiseki simplicity with hints of Spanish tapas to make it a different experience. Everything was good, some dishes were great, and one or two were fantastic. The dishes with flavour and texture combinations were my favourites.

Would definitely recommend.
