“First class, don't miss”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

Don't go for the Nefertiti, go if you love antic art and Egyptian art in particular. A world class collection, beautifully set and lit in a first rate museum which has been at last very tastefully reconstructed. An added benefit - It is just the right size. Big enough to spend hours but not so big as to make you numb with quantity and exhaustion.

“Awesome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

If there is one museum to visit, this has to be one of them. The museums are all awesome, for different and combined points of interests. This museum is the new museum. Interests include the Nefertiti from Egypt, Xanten Youth from Italy, and the golden hat from South Germany.

“Worth a visit just to see Queen Nefertiti”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2014

It's worth visiting this museum just to see the bust of queen Nefertiti which is a real work of art.

We had a pass for all of the museums on museum island which worked out slightly cheaper and also means that you can beat the queues.

You get an audio guide as part of the admission price and there is also a cloakroom free of charge too. There were also lockers (€1 which you got back) which saved you carrying stuff round the museum which was a nice touch.

All in all, there's a lot of Egyptian and Greek artefacts in this museum but the best by far is the bust of Nefertiti. The Berlin Gold Hat which is from the bronze age is also pretty cool too. Enjoy!

“Breathtaking!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2014 via mobile

This museum is what all museums should aim to be-elegant, educational and emotionally uplifting. We were a bit thrown by the inconspicuous side entrance but once inside we were gob smacked. The quality of the Egyptian exhibits rivals the Met in NY and is better than the British Museum. What gives this display the edge over even the Louvre's impressive collection is the sensitivity of the curation and the lighting. The recently renovated building is a tour de force. If you see one museum in Berlin make it this one.

“Most amazing place on earth!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014

I am a true lover of history so this place provided some of the most amazing sites I have ever seen. I had broken my foot on vacation and my grandson pushed me around this place in a wheelchair, provided by museum. There was plenty of room to see it all, and we didn't miss a thing. This place is not to be missed while in Berlin!
