My wife and I spent 5 nights at this hotel in mid September. The one bedroom apartment was large, well appointed, clean and well maintained. The kitchenette was used every day for our breakfast, and ingredients were purchased at a nearby supermarket ( 5min walk). The lounge furniture was comfortable as was the bed, and the airconditioning unit was quiet and effective.
The front desk staff were very helpful at all times and were happy to make a recommendation for a 'special' restaurant to celebrate our anniversary....Hugo's at the Intercontinental....a must!!
Wifi is only free in the lobby which is a bit of a nuisance but it does keep one active. It does seem odd that free wifi is not the standard as it is throughout most SE Asian hotels.
I agree with Moonwalker 123 in his review that the location is a bit out of the way and not surrounded by activities and restaurants. However, the museum of modern art is over the road as is the Natural History museum, so all is not lost. It is a 10 minute walk to the Hauptbanhof station from where you can go anywhere and over the main road to the hotel is a somewhat obscure bus stop ( obscured by the major roadworks in the area) where you can get a bus right into the centre of town. There is another bus stop in front of the hotel that also goes directly to central Berlin.
While the location seems along way out of town, it is in fact very central and geographically close to the major sights but this does involve a 2-3km somewhat indirect walk and we found the public transport more than adequate and economical, particularly if you get a one, three or five day travel pass. We were leisure travellers and felt very comfortable in exploring Berlin from this well appointed apartment hotel. We were also very pleased to have laundry facilities in our apartment as we were travelling light and needed to wash our clothes.
We were recommended to this particular Adina apartment hotel by American Express Platinum travel services who felt the rooms were more spacious than the other Adina hotels in Berlin, but this not be correct...I have not checked. If you prefer to be in the centre of the city then one of the other Adina hotels may suit you better, but we would not hesitate to return to this one.
