“Good price - quality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

The Abba Hotel is a nice hotel just behind Kurfurstendam. Public transport is therefore nearby and you can rent bikes. There are some restaurants close to the hotel, like a nice Egyptian restaurant. The rooms are spacious, new, and kept clean well. We have not used the spa and bubble bath, it was kind of tucked away in the cellar. Only draw-back was the breakfast-buffet. It was tasty, but the salmon was not always replaced and there sometimes was a big line, or little space for everyone to sit. And the rooms were noisy in the way that there was one baby that cried a lot every night. We heared it very well. We had no problems with other neighbours, but the baby sometimes kept us awake. Strange, because we didn't hear anybody else! But I would definetely go back to Abba Hotel. Especially at the low-rate we booked a four-star hotel for december through lasminute.de.

Room Tip: They said that all rooms were quiet. We had a room at the back and it was very quiet.

The hotel was bright and friendly looking. The breakfast was adequate but German hotels have yet to learn how to cook bacon. The room was comfortable, but as in most European hotels the bathtubs are very tall on the sides. As mentioned previously staff does not give guests enough time to answer the door. Dinner in their restaurant was not as expected. The chicken was dry and tough. The hotel was within comfortable walking distance to the main train station at the zoo and all of the shops in between.

Room Tip: remember to hang out the do not disturb sign if you are alone and want to shower in peace.

I have just rteturned from Berlin this afternoon. and stayed at Abba Berlin Hotel. Lovely hotel
and perfect area to reach Shops in Ku'Dam. Room excellent, spotlessly clean, lovely bathroom.
Perfect staff everywhere except in the restaurant at breakfast. I have never been at an hotel and told"find your own table" after giving room number. Utter chaos!!! Next day we went to a table and told it was too b ig for us and told to move!!!In consistent!! . Staff clearing tables were perfect-it was girl meeting you at door who had attitude!!! I find this disappointing in a 4star hotel. I was in Abba hotel in Alicante in September and this was not the practice. Berlin take note!!!
However ;lovely food was served!! Reception, bar and everyone else was lovely.

i stayd with my wife in this hotel from 23-29 november 2012. the rooms were comfortable and very calm. breakfast was good.and staff were very good and cooperative.the hotel was a little far from transportation and center.
but , something very disturbing happened to us more than once, when cleaning or bar workers opened the doors after knocking once ,and without giving guests inside any oppottunity to get ready . they simply knocked and directly opened .ignoring the privacy of people inside. we were simply shocked and amazed.we mention this just for the benifit of others ,and to draw the attention of the hotel managers.

Room Tip: rooms facing the street have a better scene.

The ABBA Hotel is perfect for a short stay in Berlin. Close to the U and S barns it is very convenient. Savinyplatz is full of little gems of bars/restaurants - we especially liked 'Cross' which is close to the S barn. Breakfast in the hotel was good (the bacon was super tasty) and the coffee machine was awesome - double espresso to start off a day of exploring! The rooms are large and we needed binoculars to see each other whilst in bed! (Honestly it's HUGE!) Cleaned daily with fresh bedding and towels, fully stocked mini bar which isn't expensive, glitzy CHANDELIER in every room! Definitely worth the money. The staff are all very friendly and the concierge even paid us a personal visit to bring an iron and ironing board one evening! Definitely recommend this hotel for anybody!

Room Tip: Request room 611 on the 6th floor - it is BIG!
