“Nice Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

Very nice Hotel, located 5 - 8 minutes from the city center or, if you are lazy or very tired to walk, very well served by bus.
The room was very large and cozy, I really liked it and the staff very polite.
I would go back there for sure!

We stayed at the Leonardo Berlin for 4 nights in a "comfort" twin room. We paid about £42 per night and found this was amazing value for money.

Although the hotel is out in Charlottenburg, the location is actually a huge plus point - the hotel is practically next door to Bismarckstr. u bahn station, which gives access to 2 different u bahn lines. It's also just a few stops to Zoo Station where you can get either of the terrific 100 or 200 buses that go between Zoo and Alexanderplatz - between them, they pass most of the main sights, and are much, much cheaper than a tour bus. It's dead easy to get to the hotel from Schonefield airport - just get an x7 bus to the Radow u bahn station, which is a terminus, and get on a train which will take you straight to Bismarckstr in about 40 minutes. It's also easy to get to Mitte, Ku'damn, everywhere really.

The room was very clean and comfortable, with tea/coffee, a very good shower, and comfortable beds. The pillows were very soft, but reception provided some extra ones straight away when we asked. The location is quiet at night, with 24 hour reception- friendly and efficient. It's true that wi fi access is expensive, but there are two computers in the lobby which are free to use, and you can also print stuff out.

Another advantage of the location is the area itself - not as built up and high rise as the centre of the city; it's bustling and busy, but on a more human scale. The hotel is almost next door to a Penny's supermarket, so we got stuff for breakfast etc from there. Just up from Penny's there are two fab places to eat - one is a kebab/middle eastern cafe and the other is a pizza/pasta place. We ate at both throughout our stay and were impressed by the quality and price of the food - definitely recommended. They're nothing flash, but they're friendly, quick and convenient.

Overall, perfect location for exploring Berlin, giving you a nice place to come back to at the end of a busy day sightseeing. Liked it so much I'm returning to Leonardo next year for a longer stay.

Room Tip: It's a bit quieter if you have a room overlooking Spielhagenstr.

Nice, easy base to stay in while being a tourist in Berlin. Rooms were nice enough with everything you need. Really clean.
Staff were friendly enough and took the time to help us when needed.
Didn't like that we had to sit in reception to use the internet. What is the issue with some hotels offering free (decent) wifi?!

We came to Leonardo hotel Berlin for a five days vacation.
After booking the hotel I contacted to hotel in order to arrange several surprises for my wife's birthday, the staff were very polite and helpful.

The rooms are large and comfortable.

I recommend this hotel without blinking.

Somewhere to lay your head, clean, everything worked and there was a safe in the room. We were staying close to my sister's so didn't need transport. Amazing huge fruit shop outside, fascinating to watch it being packed up every day. We had room only and did go to a large cafe up the street, didn't catch on that it was an all you can eat breakfast buffet, it would have been a good deal!
Disappointed that we had to pay for wifi but it was a strong signal.

We booked a triple room for four nights. Upon arrival we were given a very small room with no door on the bathroom i.e. no privacy which is OK for a couple but not for three people. Shower has a glass door!!
Our room was crowded with three suite cases and three back packs. Next morning we inquired about the sizes of their triple rooms and complained about privacy issue. One nice person at the front desk decided to give us a real triple room where we had much more space and a door on the bathroom.
The third bed was very uncomfortable. The hotel and the rooms are spot less clean; location is very good, close to a subway station. We did not have breakfast at the hotel as we decided to try cafes in the streets around. There is a good place just across the street where we had good coffees and sandwiches.
A big minus is no free wi-fi i.e. it is very expensive.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on a weekend.

It is located in Charlottenburg just around the corner to the U-Bahn-station “Bismarckstraße” of the line U2. So, arriving with public transport is no problem. The staff was friendly.

Our room was on the top floor (6th floor) with a comfortable double bed. The bathroom and the room itself were very clean. We did not try the breakfast or restaurant.

The location might not be ideal if it is your first time in Berlin, as it is not close to the main tourist attractions. You can walk in 20 mins to Ku’damm however.
