Restauration Tucholsky was so lovely, we went back twice! On our first visit, we went for dinner and beer at this sleepy little German restaurant. The next day, we were back for beers. It's walls are lined with heavy wood and the service was warm and friendly. To top it off, it introduced me to the best beer I found in Berlin - Schneider Hefeweizen. My friend had a delicious, flaky trout with potatoes and coleslaw, and I had the stuffed cabbage. Basically, they created an amazingly moist meatloaf, wrapped it in tender cabbage, then smothered it in rich bacon gravy. It came with a side of parsley potatoes and we finished the meal with a traditional apple strudel. The pastry was flaky and crunchy, the filling was warm and spicy, and the vanilla ice cream added a nice, creamy contrast. Everything was delicious, even the basket of bread before the meal, which was served with - wait for it - a little saucer of lard. If you're looking for a great German meal in a cozy environment, I highly recommend Restauration Tucholsky!
