I have been a devote of Albrecht's since the Fall of 2004. In my immediate neighborhood two of its three venues are within a nice stroll, thus sometimes, I find myself at the Fasenstrasse address, another time, often on a sunny Sunday after 15 o'clock at its Winterfeldestrasse venue: especially now and through the summer, one can sit outside at one of its ample tables.;
Its third venue, in the Ryke Strasse, is in Prenzlauer Berg, a neighborhood to which I do not go out of my way!
Saturday can be quite crowded as the nearby Winterfelde Markt is very popular .Shoppers once fatigued go to this cosy place for refreshment and good company.Naturally the place is very popular with the local Berliners of this 'Kiez' as well as tourists.
Classic but also new and successful experiments of French patisserie mean that there is always variety; it serves nice continental French breakfasts, and since a few weeks, as always in the Spring , offers its extraordinary own ice cream and sherbets, making Albrecht's practically a daily pleasure for me. The ice cream is far better than the 'famous' brands and remarkably inexpensive for its quality. I am addicted.. a l m o s t ...! to their cassis and passion fruit sorbet.
The personnel, young, sophisticated, charming make one feel tres agreable! All speak English and other languages, too.
Albrecht's makes its own confitures and other delicacies which I often purchase as gifts for friends....and myself!
Importantly, Albrecht's has excellent coffee and nice offerings for lunch; today I had a succulent quiche Lorraine.They do have sandwiches, always freshly-prepared, soups, salads and interesting hot beverages. For example a lovely hot white chocolate . Once visiting here, you will return!
