Read my reviews, I try to be understanding, I try to go with the flow. In this case I should have gone with the flow of the Spree River passing by. It was my Birthday. "OH we have to go to this place I heard about!" Mind you, I do come from the Heartland of America. There's 1/2 of a beef in my freezer right now and any package would be better than the 4 of us got at this place. Was with an MTV exec, 2 producers. Greeting was great. Table in the middle surrounded by others, not so great. I'm a big guy...back to back with another table. All down hill from here, with a small happiness at the end. Steaks were not high quality. Sauce had broken. Sides cold and tasteless. Wine, Bordeaux expensive and boring. Service sub-par for a chain in the US let alone a HQ Berliner spot. Time frame...all we did was wait, ask and wait, and wait some more. Just not a good experience. And then the bill that topped $500 US Dollars. I could take you to any of 20 places across Europe and the US where the same experience would have come in at 225$ and been far superior. I can cut my own beef, I have a grill in my home and entertain often. This isn't rocket science, but the saddest part was the unresponsive staff AND the POOR CUTS OF MEAT, badly cooked. Desert was nice. And with the luck of the draw it was my turn to pay. Come to my house, better food, better service, no tipping allowed.
